SirGeorgeKillian What are the fog lights doing, signaling ET?

I bet all those lens guards came in handy with all the tough urban trials that thing has seen...

Moving along

Well, it's been quite the transformation but it's starting to resemble it's old self. I'm just waiting to get my wheels off my red LJ so I can put the remaining three tires on it. It was amazing to see the pile of chrome that came off of it. Tires are cooper mud claw 285/75/16's. Almost done.....

Tippittrg Personally, I think there is something wrong with put anything bigger than an 18 on a Jeep.

DarthLEGO [QUOTE=Pontiackid87;2395625]nothing wose than putting hood wheels on a wrangler... I was at a gas station a few months ago sportin the mudd paint job when some guy in a TJ pulls up to the pump next to me with big '22s on it and while filling it comes up to me and says You should clean that thing.. look how nice mine looks... I lookedat him and said you know thats a wrangler not an esclade right...QUOTE]

X2

There is just something wrong with Rims larger then 20" on a Jeep, unless you have 44" tires.

I hate chrome on a wrangler... Dont mind it on other cars but its not right on a wrangler.. I hate my headlight beze'ls because under the black paint there chrome... I hate my off road lights because the back of them are chrome...

Robin in VA Cool! Can't wait to see the finished products!

TXST8tj It is definitely not any of our cup of tea, but that obviously fits the bill for a population of Jeep people.

What that looks like to me is a pile of cash........from selling all those chrome pieces on Craigslist.

I kid you not ! I swear I thought you were behind me last night on my way
home from work. I saw almost the EXACT same Black Jeep. What gave it
away was the one behind me had all the exact same chrome except the
roof lights. What it had was the spotlights up on the hood by the windshield.
Rob .....

Nano I would love to have bought that, especially if it was as cheap as you say it was. I've been looking for an 03 or 05 Rubicon. It would be even sweeter to dechrome a Jeep. Great pickup!

Con Artist DEFINITELY too much chrome, but judging from the body, it appears to be in decent shape. Considering it's all "streeted out," it may turn out it's never been taken off-road, either; a sure "plus!"

Despite the hideousness, I would keep the wheel/tire combo for those times where you know you won't be getting off-road for a while; why wear down your good tires when you have a set of street tires to use?

Agreed there is way too much chrome and most of it needs to go.

Rhodyjeep recently saw very similar one at a local jeep dealer advertised as a "black tie edition." Ha Ha too funny!!!

BT it could be a lot worse... way to be a hero!

James249G I plan to pass on my TJ to my daughter when she graduates highschool. Then, I'd like to find a CJ7 to restore. THAT, I plan to chrome the hell out! Classic! But a TJ? Boo...
05-15-2012 09:12 PM
BLK00TJ Don't laugh, but when I first got my TJ, I wanted all that chrome bling (minus the wheels). Luckily, I was too broke after keeping up with the payments and have grown a severe distaste for chrome since then. I even de-badged/dechromed my new car I got this month already.

That's a TJ Rubicon Moab wheel. A JK wheel wouldn't fit on the carrier anyhow..

cubalz Good grief. The PO had more money than brains apparently.

Ratfink2u Looks like it went south of the border and came back a lil shiny...
not that theres anything wrong with that, I'm jus sayin....

Blackpony04 While I'm not a chrome man myself I can appreciate it when used tastefully and on a darker colored Jeep. In this particular case, it's definitely NOT tasteful and I'm fairly sure the wheels are against the Geneva Convention! Thanks for saving this poor soul!
