I bought an '07 JKU last year, had a problem with the front axle that was repalced under warranty. Other that that, I've had no problems and I love it.
One of the best vehicle purchases I've ever made.
Oh, by the way . . .

Hello - Picking up my 2008 JK today
Very happy there is a Jeep forum out there, wish I had known about you when I bought my first Jeep back in...well quite awhile ago!
Anyway, buying my 3rd Jeep in 15 years today, it is a 2008 Wrangler X 2dr, manual, of course.
My question to all of you experienced Jeep owners, especially those with this particular year and model, I am now very concerned about all the crappy reviews I am reading on Edmunds and other websites; (Death Wobble, leaking soft top, clutch) the list goes on and on.
I am going to pay extra $$ to get the Jeep checked out as I never trust a dealer, but should I just step away from this thing and look for an older model?
The car is a 1 owner, was originally purchased as a lease, 54K miles, suntop, no issues on the CarFax, drives well but you can only tell so much from a couple of test drives.
It comes with the dealers 3 month 3,000 mile limited dealer warranty and apparently the remaining of a 6yr 80,000 mile power train warranty.
Should I buy it or steer clear?!
