|vikingdiver21||My 99 Jeep wrangler 4.0 sport just started dying randomely. It's getting worse and more frequent. After it dies it takes 10minutes or so to restart. Now it's not even driveable. I'm thinking the crank sensor or something along those lines. Any ideas?|

Get the seal!!
Park it til you get the proper seal. Don't use any funky gunk to try and seal it. It is a gasket that looks identical to a door jam plate. I bet it might cost ya 2 bucks. I didn't even know it existed until it fell onto my hands when I was replacing out my Crank Sensor the other night.
I also have a 2000 TJ

|1rbotma||Do you know of a method to seal it up around the cps sensor? I would feel better knowing that it's sealed up. Plus I've heard of some guys getting a bunch of mud on their clutch and screwing things up or at least causing them some work|

|rebelBullDawg325||i dont think mine has one either and have had no problems from water and mud, etc. that is just the bell housing right there, not access to the insides of the tranny. there are multiple other places water and mud can get into the bell housing as well|

Crank Position Sensor "Seal"???
I replaced my crank position sensor and when i did there was a "seal" that went around the the sensor and filled in the gap between the sensor and the shell of the transmission.
However I am looking for the new seal but nobody knows what I'm talking about. I can fit my fingers between the CPS and the outer shell of my tranny. I do not want to take out my jeep right now because water, mud, etc will definitely get into the tranny.
Does anybody know what or where I can get that "seal"??
