BlueRidgeYJ May not be the prettiest, but I sure do like it.

What I used:
2 pieces angle iron, ~12"
3 radiator band clamps, ~76mm(3")
1 piece 1x1/8x~18" aluminum bar stock
2 small washers
1 bolt/washer, ~5/16 thread and tap to match
3 bolt/washer/lock nuts, ~5/16 thread
1 bolt/2 washers/lock nut/nylon washer, ~1/4 thread x ~1"Length
~ 20' submersible pump power cable (12ga braided water shielded 3 strand)

Found/scrounged some, bought the rest, about 50$ in so far.

tap from above
Drill / bit index
ability to bend metal
wrench/sockets/fastener head tools (torx, allen, etx)

Used the radiator band clamps to attach the 1st piece of angle iron to the "roll" bar in the upper left corner, at the A pillar. Took the second piece of angle and bent it to the angle of the windshield to maintain a level plane, ~80% or so. Removed the sun visor, and using the 2 small washers, attached the angle iron to the windshield frame with the visor bolts / holes. Bolted the two angle irons together in the corner (1 of 3 bolt/washer/lock nut). Tapped a hole towards the right of the 2nd angle iron and put a bolt in it, more for stability than support (going into the windshield frame, similar to the sun visor holes). Attached alum bar from angle 1 to angle 2 (bolt/wash/lock nut 2 & 3), mounted radio bracket to center of bar (1/4x1 bolt/lock nut) with nylon washers in between (so it can swivel). Used alum scrap to make a mic holder with the 2nd sun visor bolt hole set, ran sub pump wire to battery (with fused link) and attached it to the quick connect behind the radio, so I can take it out. As this is a FT 2900, I was able to also cable lock the radio to the angle iron as a theft deterrent/keep a radio from slamming into my face device.

It was too sunny to snap a good pic, sorry.

I have no issues with it at all. I was going to mount it under the seat at first. I decided not to because of water. You cannot tell from the picture but that is a little recessed area. The ice chest slides in right next to it and helps protect it. When I do pack up the jeep, I slide the ice chest in and do not pack anything else around it to keep air flowing around it for heat disipation.

I can get a picture of what I am talking about if it would help you visualize it.
