Don't know about the IL lift laws, but the mirror law is simple if you go doorless.
You must have 1 mirror on the drivers side.

tobkis Wonder how many people have died in the past 10 years for this law to be enacted? What safety Stats do the have?

Silly Illinois, more people get hurt on skateboards than 4x4.

Woofer71 My neighbor just saw a lifted Jeep pulled over and the cop measuring the height? Figured the cops in Aurora could worry a bit more about gangs and drugs than a lifted Jeep!

Irishs offroad i got arrested on the day of my wedding for my bumbpers not being wider than my tires (not being to tall not wide enuff) / haveing a fuel cell with out a cage (thats in the bed of a comanche) no factory gas door / fuel cap ( not in use due to the much less safe fule cell from what the officer informed me of ) and the lakemoor officer said he could hit me for 19 moore tickits.
got that fixed got married when im on my honeymoon the same cop weighed my buddys bone stock 99 f-250 with nothing in it to see if it was over whate
got back from my honey moon called the police staion asked for that offcer to come back out and tell me what where the other 19 jailable offences that he was so kind to let me slide on. and he wouldnt come back out. so i go to cort and for some reson every thing gets put down to a parking tickit that was 25$ after cort cost it was 298.00$
il and every town in northen il is out to pay there bills with your pay check.

These laws are really stupid!
Every law has a reason to exist (some more paranoid then others) but you have to check it by location everywhere you go.

Redsand just glad i live in the southern part, about 6 hours south of crapchigo where the cops dont care

jackhammer The laws about the wieghts and heights of vehicles has nothing todo with cops being dikks. Or illinois being some facist state. It has todo with accidents. Whats going to happen when your steel tube bumper meets a prius at 35mph at 30inches above the ground. So dont hate the piggies or law makers. Hate the insurance companies and the prius owners.

60mg I also run sport bike so due to the nature of the beast I get to know some of them. To tell you the truth, some of them I'd love to have as friends it's just I think that due to specifics of their job they tend to stay away from connections like that.

97flexy your right it depends on which piggy it is, I used to go to the local bar and chiil with all the Barrington pigs they cool, They knew all the illegal stuff done on my old truck. I think it help with not gettin pulled over.

60mg Just out of curiosity, how do you know I'm not one of the "piggies"? just like with every other profession, some police officers are more ass..les then other, and some are just as good as it gets. I seen all of the above. Lucky me nice guys more than others.
