This sounds like fun, I will know more for sure as it gets closer. Where can you go up there though, I was just up there last weekend and couldn't find anything. I wanted to take 7n06 around the backside of Cachuma lake, but was told it was all private property.

firestrokesocal Hey thats my old backyard. Driven that road 100 times, there are some places that depending on how winter is are a little rutted, theres a nice hill climb and some big mud pit areas. Theres also some pretty good views. Not very technical. I might be down to take a run to the ruins. An old cabin near the trail with a pond... Last time I was up there was a year ago in a 4x4 tahoe and theres was some deep ruts and crossovers..

I'm down to go out on a trail and do some fishing! Let's plan something! I need to make friends with more people who have jeeps!

somis Just went by Jameson lake on the painted caves road past the shooting range and all the way to the hot springs
05-22-2012 05:46 PM
Iwanna Time to set up another run. Maybe to the lake for some summer fun and fishing..... What say all?
05-21-2012 01:52 PM
somis Type it in on Google maps. It has forest routes going to it only so I assume its very remote. Its above carpinteria SB area

Xjman1 Please join us on our next run. We are looking to start a monthly gtg as well. Will post new thread soon, keep an eye out. As for.the run, it started on west camino cielo off the 154 in SB. Nothing hard, but clearance helped. The views were amazing and it is just good to get out with some good folks from here.
I have never heard of Jameson Lake, how far up the 33 is it? I love to fish so any new lake would be a welcomed destination.

somis I live in somis right in between camarillo and moorpark. I would love to join you guys next time. Nice to see some locals are on the forum! Today I was up the 33 trying to find my way to Jameson lake but everything was closed off for the environmental hikers unfortunately. Where did your Guy's trail begin? I would love to go explore out there

Xjman1 Had a great time, thanks for putting this together. I learned a nice casual route in the hills above SB. The views were incredible, even in the back eating dust. LOL
We do need to go back though, forgot to feed the ostriches!!

Link to the few pics we took.

Great day trip!

What a great ride. 4wd was not really needed. But 4 high made the ride smoother. Great day trip, beautiful.

andiesel I'm good for lunch, but can't make it down south for a bbq.
05-18-2012 08:14 PM
Iwanna Okay - I need a count for the BBQ if there is interest.
05-17-2012 11:00 PM
Iwanna I think we can do a lunch in Solvang and still have a BBQ at 5:30 at my house.
Andisel check your PM.

Looks like XJman1, Iwanna, andiesel

All others the BBQ is still on at the house.
05-17-2012 06:08 PM

05-17-2012 05:56 PM
Xjman1 Run is still on. Let's do this!
05-17-2012 02:16 PM
andiesel laaaame! well, I'd like to do some trails this summer in SB so stay posted.
05-17-2012 12:17 PM
Xjman1 Bummer. Maybe we need to rethink AJ's and bring the BBQ here so you two can at least join us for that or change departure time. I am open to ideas and suggestions, however this is Dan's run so he gets final say. I just like the opportunity to meet some local Jeepers!
