jpdocdave you really won't see fifth gear w/ any gears, and 35's w/ that engine. i had a 4 banger, now a 4.0, just go for the bigger motor is my advice.

bizzleyj i got a 4 banger 5 speed also i have 33'' tires wanna upgrade to 35'' tires when i soa, with 33''s i cant use 5th gear does any one know wat a good gear ration would be and would it be easier and cheaper to do transfer case gears

jeeps&comics you can look on the actual differential cases, they have the ratio stamped into the front cover, and sometimes even a plate between two of the bolts on the cover

gearing question

i bought my jeep stock and it is a 93 yj 4cyl 5 speed. i have a 5 in lift and 35s now. but my question is can any one tell me how to find what gearing it has, for help i have to shift out of 1 st between 10 and 15 miles an hour i my guess its pretty low but can any one help. p.s. i know it has limited slip rearend
