I am pretty sure I can do a fuel pump, just did a nutter bypass, fuel filter, distributor cap and rotor, now I guess I will change the plug wires and then attack the pump.. I had not looked into the pump due to a friend telling me that I didn't have one.
I am still learning on how to on my Jeep and I don't plan on paying someone else to do what i am able to do. Thanks for the advice on what to look for.

|jfbilbro||The only way you won't have a fuel pump is if the gas tank is located higher than the carb......you have one, trust me|

The filter is new, and its carb so no fuel pump that I know of..
Going to check the fuel and spark and air but it doesn't make since why this problem wouldn't be constant.

|kik||The usual suspects are spark; coil or Ignition Control Module, carb., or clogged fuel filter/bad fuel pump. I would change the fuel filter anyway and make sure you have spark, even though if it's the module it can be intermittent. When I had that problem I swapped out the coil and ICM. It was the module.|

Loss of power...
having some serious issues with a occasional loss of power with a sputtering but when I switch gears I can get the power back.
Really Killing me.. Not sure where to start... Fuel, Air, and Spark are the base issues that I look to but how to trouble shoot is what i really need to know.
Any help will be GREAT thank you BTW it is a 87 YJ with the 4.2
