|Piper54||I agree with Capper, Smittybuilt is not all bad, I've got the side armor on my JK and they look and perform great.|

|LVCapo||I had the Smittybilt XRC front and rear bumpers on my old JK, decent quality but the front bumper was a ightmare install...none of the holes underneath matched up, and they werent off by a fraction, they were off quite a bit. The rear bumper installed perfectly, but the tire carrier broke twice within a year at the connecting handle....wouldn't buy their bumpers again.|

Smittybuilt is like odd fetish porn (or truckstop lot lizards), no one ever looks at it, no one ever buys it, no one ever wants it, but somehow they stay in business dont they
Smittybuilt products arent all bad, sorry, they just arent or they wouldnt be here, sometimes a product has to be installed a little different from the last time, theres nothing wrong with that, we should all have enough common sense and a minimum of mechanical aptittude to accomplish it.
Yes, they are made in China, thats too bad, I would feel bad about it but I dont, blame unions getting unskilled workers $34/hr for why we cant make products here and when we do they get recalled with alarming frequency, I mean seriously, if your baby was deathly ill and the hospital was 35 miles away and you had a 1982 chevy citation or a 1982 toyota corolla, which would you take trusting to make it? yeah, sucks but me too.
Smittybuilt isnt a bad company, they are a profit driven corporation, if I owned them I imagine I would maximize my profits too, its ok to not like them, its ok to not buy them, and of course its ok to proclaim this to the world, just dont expect it to make an impact in Smitty's bottom line

Love the look of the fender armor. Its the only reason i ordered them. I will nvr buy smittybilt again though The brake light cuts are supposed to be the same size right?????? Not these.....
Dunno if u can tell or not. The passenger side light barely fit in there.

While I do have some very cheap guitars (made in China/Indonesia), I ALWAYS make sure to do a VERY thorough inspection. They are hit or miss. You could play two different guitars which are the same exact model and they feel totally different, or the quality is decent on one and complete rubbish on the other.
I'm currently trying to find info on Rough Country. I'm not sure where their products are made, but given they're budget-priced lifts, I'm very apprehensive about pulling the trigger on one.

I got the smittybuilt front bumper as a present and it took several attempts of drilling out holes to get it to bolt on.
Don't feel bad, but it was worth it in the end.

here. Although this looks like a newer model. Thankfully I only bought one. Thought it would be a good idea for extra storage... it really is, just didn't last any time at all.
Within 3 weeks, the material started to separate at the seams, and within 2 months, it was shredded. Plus, it never fit well at the top from the start.

|O_M_Jeep||I have the XRC stinger, and the front & rear tube fenders, I had no trouble installing anything, but you have to understand that the install guides are just that, a guide, every install will be different, your Jeep will be different from mine, at the same time I was doing my front fenders a friend was doing his, and while we found some things the same that we had to change, we found that we didnt have the same issues and we have the same 2.5l TJs. You have to use the install guide as a guide to the install not as directions, they are good products, if they have a short coming its the thin powder coat, but as I bought the armor to be armor, I dont mind, it gets repainted often anyway.|

I've had 1 product of theirs, and will NEVER buy another.

Dam you smittybilt!
Trying to install the xrc front and rear armor. Awesome awesome product. The worst thing evr to install!!!
And the instructions are sheit. Its 2012, why do they include spotty black & white photos??
Please post a pro video on how to install this product or i will.....and it will be horribly wrong. And it will be ur fault. Or due to the fact that i don't know how to follow instructions. .
