|j0nx||Dude. 1 month unrepaired and it's lemon law time. Why people allow themselves to be cornholed is beyond me.|

|skyponds||My 2012 Jeep did exactly the same thing. Except after 2 months in the shop, It's still isn't fixed. It took 5 weeks just to get the new cam. There were 3 other 2012 jeeps in the shop with the same problem. After waiting 5 weeks for the fix, there was still problems with the engine. They replaced a few more parts, and still not fixed. We've requested a new engine to no avail. We are in the process of the lemon law, no contest from Chrysler, for a replacement. Although at this point, and I love, love, love my jeep, I'm not sure I want another one if this problem has not been fixed. Does anyone know if they've fixed the twin cam engines to not have this problem any longer?|

|daggo66||You are wasting your time. The OP made one post back in February and hasn't been back since.|

You can demand those items all you want until your blue and shorten your life. Thats a easy repair, she is not getting a new Jeep.

|Sinz||I would demand a new engine or a new Jeep!|

|MarshallbrewJK||Sorry to hear about your Jeep. I had a problem with my brand new JK with 580 miles on the clock. It turned out to be a computer software problem. Your issue is a whole new ball of wax. Has the idea of a new engine been brought up? If they can't get you a camshaft, then perhaps a new engine. I would contact Chrysler and see if there is anything they can do to expedite the issue.|

|44Blues||I'm waiting for the usual "it's a Jeep thing" or relax, "it's covered by warranty" post. 8k and a busted cam? No defect there! Must have been all of that severe duty driving on the way to school/work. Sorry for the sarcasm but although there have been many satisfied owners, there have also been more than one or two posts regarding people having issues with their virtually new 3.6s I'm sure they will eventually fix all this stuff but I would hate to have my new 30K JK sitting in the shop with no ETA on the repair...hopefully they will take care of you in a proper manner, which they seem to be doing so far - good luck and keep us posted!|

|Ibuildembig||I'd make um put an engine in it|

|Riccochet||That sucks. Wonder if the 3.6 is a clearance motor. If not there's valve damage for sure. New head time me thinks.|

Could be something simple ??

Anyone Had Broken Cam Shaft?
I bought my 2012 JK Rubicon Unlimited in October last year, I have 8k miles on it. I was driving down the road Saturday when the check engine light came on, I was staring in disbelief when the Electronic Stability Control warning light came on too and within seconds the front end of my jeep felt like it was falling apart, as if I was tearing it up 100mph on a bumpy dirt road. I had it towed to my dealer and they told me the cam shaft on the exhaust snapped. I have not even driven this anywhere fun yet, just commuting to work, school, etc. Even better, they can't even order a part! It is like it doesnt exist! They told me would be at least 10 days before they could even order the part and that they still didn't know that for sure. The service manager gave me the Chrysler customer service number and told me to call them because I was definately going to need a long rental for this one. Thank goodness I have a forever warranty and also the Chrysler Customer Service was extremly helpful and wonderful. They were also pretty surprised I wasn't ripping their heads off on the phone... I told them that was a gift they were talking to me and not my husband. So I am thankful for their support and the communication, however it leaves me a little unsettled to have this problem happen and as the technician said when I went to clear out my jeep "this jeep hasn't been crawling anywhere except to the mall" In fact, he said when he started the engine, he would have bet money I had it underwater. This is my first Jeep experience, hoping it's just a fluke! Wondering if anyone has heard of this problem before or how things are going after a major problem was fixed. Thanks!
