macleay I just talked to my buddy, and he also found out jeep didn't make wranglers in 96. He's got a 97.
Coyote-I don't go wheelin' much, just don't have the time. Got a good deal on my Jeep, needed a rig, always wanted a Jeep, blah blah blah. Doesn't mean I won't go, just haven't had the time yet.

Coyote_94YJ Dee Da Dee!!!
Okey Dokey silly yo...I'm an idiot.
Thats cool.
My wife grew up between Lebanon and Sweet Home, about a half mile down from the old school house(now a church) on Fairview Rd.
Where do you go wheelin? I've been all over the McDowell Creek Park area and spent a lot of time up at Middle Ridge.

Just an FYI, Jeep never made Wranglers in 96.

macleay Hi Coyote. I'm in Macleay (hence the handle) about 6-7 miles east of Salem. My buddy lives between Lebanon and Sweet Home, used to live in Shedd.
Crafty, What I heard was a 96 Wrangler. Apparently it was wrong, but that's what I had to work with. I will pass along the info and ideas. Thanx.
Anyone do the dist swap?

Coyote_94YJ Does pick-a-part in tangent have any yj's. I know a few years ago the one in albany did but it's been a few years. You might put on some tube fenders but I know Oregon has tire coverage laws that they enforce. As least they did in my home town. I got a ticket for no mud flaps 5 days after I went SOA.
I'd call around to all the wrecking yards. You can get new steel ones on ebay, the bid is at $75 each right now or for $140 each

Where east of Salem do you live? I lived in Lebanon for the first 26yrs of my life.

crafty Might be able to offer some assistance for your friends search but he does not have a 96 Wrangler. Check with him again.

Fenders, windshield, distributor

Hi. A friend of mine just got a "96 Wrangler, and he needs to replace the front fenders and windshield. Any suggestions where to look? We're in western Oregon.
Also, I have an '89 Wrangler, 4.2, and was looking for the link to swapping the distributor with a Ford 300 6 distributor. Has anyone done a comparison on the swap, and is it worth it?
