I firmly believe some similar problems (although not as extreme as Jeep DOA) are from demonic possession or gremlins (those little buggers have been jealous ever since AMC loved Jeep more than Gremlins & Pacers).

I have radio (430n) resetting issues (x2) & phantom A/C on then off when NOT turned on by me. I've probably been lucky that these issues have corrected themselves after a shut-down and restart.

But if it gets worse, I'll have to keep 'loose ground' in my pocket.

Loudness I had a Jeep Liberty around 10 years ago that would keep running after I turned off the and removed the key, that too turned out to be a grounding problem as well...

Hope I don't have any similar issues on my upcoming '14 JKUR!

Wllm_bentley I too have had the same problems, mine is in the shop right now. This morning it wouldn't start, after jumping it to drive to the dealer all the dashboard warning lights flashed and the speedometer wouldn't work. In addition the radio would turn off by itself....
I expect the dealer to blame it on offroad lights I installed myself...
P.S.-I'm an instrumentation/controls engineer with 30 years of experience.

GonzoBobH Final post for me here.

Jeep's back home and driving like nothing ever happened.

While I was waiting for it, my on-board air came, my hi-jack accessories came, my Rockhard evap relocation kit came -- but a 10FT/3m Choker Chain was not in the shipment from Q like it was supposed to. (Gonna have to give them a call.)

Adios from here all. See you on another thread.

Greywolf22 Glad to hear GonzoBob!

I'm really glad I opt'ed for the 7 year bumper-to-bumper warranty now. I'm in Phoenix and the thought of breaking down in 110 degrees is not very appealling.

Also glad the D3 servers are back up!

GonzoBobH Leaving work early now.
Will soon have some fine hot winds (103 degree today) blowing through my hair.
Happy jeeping, all.

positrak Truly sorry to have watched your initial introduction to a Jeep from pre-order through delivery only to end up like this.

Out of technical interest, and without say it to them see if your very last excursion might have been the culprit i.e over rough roads did it shake something loose. etc.

Probe the tech, what might have cause it, bumps, jogging, etc. ect. it will give and is a clearer idea of what can happen, unless he says it was a 'sheitty part made in china and the blob of solder fell off'..

If you get my meaning, probe them comfortably and accordingly.

WELL, THE GOOD NEWS IS THEY RECREATED MY PROBLEM, but haven't pinpointed it exactly, but still promising.

Attachment 127640

Here it's the instrument panel harness... when giggling here the system shorted. Where exactly, they don't know yet. Should have more info tomorrow.

Any news at this point is good news (sort of).

And honestly, I'm surprised you weren't more frustrated at the D3 servers last night than the Jeep issues! I know my man and I must have checked the login capability like ever 15 minutes.
My daughter was keeping me updated, plus I was on the website trying to stay up to date. In the end I just kept trying, haha.

Paused at Lvl 29 last night. Helped me forget that I was driving a minvan today

Did the OP get his jeep fixed? That's me, and I have but two things to add before tomorrow:

1) I drove a freaking min van home --> Ouch! So, no, the jeep is still at the dealer.

2) Diablo servers are down. If you don't know what that is, just understand that it is a continuation of a very crappy day

So, to recap:

Ordered: 11 Feb 2012.
A module goes down: 16 July 2012
Purchase: 5 May 2012
Wireless Module goes down: 5 May 2012
Take Delivery: 11 May 2012
Something unknown goes down today: 29 May 2012

Now all that said, let's put this in perspective:

I am sitting in a very nice house which I own (and is worth more than I paid for it - finally) and share with a very pretty & fit wife of almost 30 years, sipping Pyrate rum on the rocks (with a generous squeeze of lime), looking at the pool, trying to play a video game while my new toy truck is in the shop. Parts are still arriving at the door and I have a job that pays well, retirement income from the Army, successful children, and the most awesome bulldog ever (Go Mojo)

Meanwhile, my dad is suffering from painful cancer tonight and some GI probably just lost an appendage or worse while far from family -- so I am keeping it in perspective. It's just a Jeep for crying-out-loud, albeit an expensive vehicle which I would presume to work without major issues such that it has.

Carry on. I will be sipping rum all night.

snochick Awww darn it! I hope this isn't the same issue ours had when we bought our Rubi. We actually bought a 2010 to begin with. It did exactly what you listed Bob, and I ended up with a 2011 a week later for the same price. Considering you've got a custom order, here's hoping they figure it out for you pretty quick.

Oh and if it helps, Diablo servers seem to be back up.

Sorry you are having all the issues with your Jeep and thanks for sharing your positive prospective. It's good to be reminded we all have a lot to be thankful for in spite of a thing or two not going as we might hope from time to time.

A wise plan, on par with Socrates. But if your problems persist, keep your hands off the hemlock Best of luck to you, Bob, hope everything works out for you.

Been there done that. Try this one, appendix ruptures on Saturday. Monday I am giving step by step instructions to restart our sever from the hospital bed.

Have several friends that get depress all the time, use the same line. Some one is far worst that you.

Spend way too much time on these boards, swear there is a tick on the drivers side.

Was wondering if that would be caught. You are right, it could definitely be worse, and its "just a Jeep" But its still frustrating. Hope it gets fixed, one way or the other.
