The 2008 does not have a cabin filter or a spot to put one in. They didn't start until 2011.

petsitter95 Hi
The remarks above are a bit confusing to me. I have a 2008 Wrangler Sahara, doe it have a cabin air filter or not ? Sometimes these mechanics try to pull a fast one on females. I sort of think it doesn't have one. Not a mechanic though.

Wingsnut72 RockAuto has them pretty cheap. Considering Mopar wants about $30 for one after taxes.

hipshot33 the cabin air filters are not just for the purification of the air you breathe ... they keep your ductwork, fan, and evaporator coils clean... to me this is the reason to have them...if you have auto-temp on your JK there is a plastic rolldown cover (kinda like a rolltop desk) that moves down to cover the filter area .. just turn the system on and the plastic rolltop cover will move and give you easy access to the filters.. don't try to move it manually ... if you have a JK without auto-temp there probably aren't filters in place from the factory but the bracket for them is in place.. if you want to filter the stuff going into your a/c system just remove your glovebox door and it is a 1 minute job..

jwilson2598 I got the Wix ones from a seller on eBay for $15. When I opened the box, they has the Wix part number on one side, and the Mopar part number on the other side.

Lusus_Naturae Great link to the filters! I think mine were $40 or so from the dealer, which will never happen.

Nuke83 How to install. I have a 2013 Sahara withOUT auto temp. Mine has the cage and came without filters. I purchased the filters and installed them. Can't get through Atlanta pollen season without it or I'd have a yellow interior. Can't run top down or windows open until the pine pollen is over in the spring.

Up Hill Bill The owners manual maintenance schedule recommends changing the air conditioning filters at 16,000 miles.

Here are mine at 10,000 miles:

I think I'll be changing them somewhere around 5,000 miles in the future!

HK_Runner I'll take a cabin air filter if I must, and a Hemi option too. No love for diesel though if it is an option along with a Hemi, I'm all for it so you guys can have a diesel.
