Bullfrog17 Probably is the switch then. Check quadratech. They sell pretty much every Jeep part

jeeps4u2nv88 Ok, Mine doesn't work in any location so that's why i'm thinking it is my switch. I've been looking at switches online and they run about $20 to $30. Know of any good places to get them? I've only found them on ebay.

Bullfrog17 For me, my dimmer switch can only be in certain positions for it to work, or my dash lights go out. If your switch is completely shot, I don't think the switch is too much to replace. I just didn't bother replacing mine cause it goes high enough before cutting out.

No backlighting on instrument panel

I have a 1988 YJ and my backlighting for my instrument panel has stopped working. All of them have stopped lighting up. I checked the fuses and they are all good. My headlights still work, so I think I want to say it has something to do with my switch that contains the dimmer switch. If you have any suggestions that would be helpful. I've ran out of ideas of what to do.

Thanks for the help!
Jeep on!
