|Con Artist||If you're thinking about getting the tops separately to save money, don't. It's cheaper to get the Dual Top option than to buy them separately unless you're shopping used.|

|Alyron||Countrybassist. If you look on the option side where it lists the hardtop on most of them it says delete soft top unless you have dual top group. If it lists dual-top group u should have both.|

|mrjonescu||A quick search on cars.com was able to locate 2 black forest green JKUs. One in Salem OH, and one in Uniontown, PA.|

Any Wrangler can be ordered with dual tops. Only Sahara's and Rubi's can be ordered with painted tops.
Some dealers almost always order dual tops for their fleet orders....some never order them. Depends on the dealer and the area.

|countrybassist||I have a question somewhat inn the ballpark of the OP's question. On my 2011 Rubicon it came with a hard top and I see that on the optional equipment section of the window sticker. Under the standard equipment section it says that there is a sunrider soft top. Should I have received the soft top as well, or does the hard top option replace that and one only gets both if the option specifies a duel top?|

yes, my local dealer has a white sport dual top. however, i want either the black forest green or the new green that is coming. If I don't like the new green and custom order, I may try to snag a black forest with hard top only then find a used soft. thanks for the advice.
anyone here have any recommendations for Cleveland / Pittsburgh area dealers?

Every Jeep I've sat in prior to mine only had one top, either the softtop or the hardtop. My Jeep is the first one I've seen with the Dual Top option, but mine was an order.
Any model is available with a Dual Top. It wouldn't be wise on Chrysler's part to not offer every model with the Dual Top as it's potential money in their pockets.

I assume you're getting a Rubicon? Pretty sure that's the only model with dual top option.
I agree with the others -- just get a hard top and buy an aftermarket soft top. You'll safe money that you can use for something else.

|schnizdawg||Plus from what I've read on here and a few other forums swapping a part from one vehicle on the lot to another is technically illegal if it effects what the vehicle sticker reflects as equipped with. Even if the swap is for a less expensive part.|

If you're looking at a JKU, my suggestion is to just get the hard top from the dealer. There are a TON of new and used JKU OEM soft tops for sale, whether it be on this forum, eBay, Craigslist, or another forum. A used soft top can go anywhere from $300-$800, which is much cheaper than you get from the dealer.
If you find a hard top JKU, I would suspect that the dealer could very easily just order a soft top to add in to your sale. It will probably cost you at least $1200.
As far as swapping soft top colors, I believe they are all black (do they still make tan?) so they could easily switch. Problem is they would be left with a topless JK.

Dual Top Option
New member, quick question:
Im finding JKU dual tops to be in incredibly short supply. Is this because it is easy for dealers to add soft top to hard top equipped models for about the same cost? Local dealer told me this week they were unable to move a soft from one color to another. Not sure I believe this.
I'm in the same 'find a 2012 with some compromise' or order a 2013 that many seem to be in this time of year.
