Haha! LOVE it.

Bill Dalton Maybe local Jeep clubs need to step-up and organize grassroots wave campaigns. Try to get local publicity from local media. It will get the word out about your club, increase membership and awareness.

Don't Not wave out of fear of feeling awkward. That's probably why so many others don't wave. If you want to get waves, gotta give them. Eventually those you wave at will start waving back if you see them on the regular. Stock or modded, 2 doors or 4, just wave.

gburkett 200 miles today. Lost total count but got waves from all but 1 guy in a jku that was texting on his phone not paying attention. I'd say Indiana jku drivers for the most part know about the wave. At least 85-90%.

Bill Dalton That reminds me, say hi to your mother Rovercross.

KingsWW Today was a dark day for the jeep wave and I, 0/5 today.

It's only awkward when I wave and notice the other driver is a teenage girl.

Edit: dear lord, what I've seen can not be unseen.

Rovercross Anybody that don't wave should trade their Wrangler in and drive a Pruis.
joeymac I wave at all Wranglers, I have a 2-Door, seems the JKU people do not wave. (Mpls, northern suburbs). No worrys , some people are just driving cars, not Jeeps. I'm just sayin'..

NoGaBiker I'd say I get it returned at least 95% of the time around ATL.

And if I don't initiate it, I'd say 75% of the people I pass will initiate. (All this assuming we're on a 2- or 4-lane street with no big median, traffic's not heavy and fast, etc.)
Tseg About every 5th vehicle where I live is a jeep but soccer moms and high school girls tend not to wave back... but close to 80% return rate. My 13 year old son still gets a kick about the wave.
thedawgshow I am in before the lock!!! Hahahahaha!!!! I think the wave is not fading and maybe even growing, but not growing as fast as Wrangler sales have.
Rick51 I got 3 waves when I was on a test drive, salesman told me about the " The Wave ". Since I bought my Jeep it's been about a 50/50 split with people waving.
the Kolector In before the lock!
JKCopper I wave to them all...Rubicons wave back about 90percent of the time, others 50 percent.
sdsviet I've been trying to wave to all but I am hesitant since it's really awkward when they don't wave back or stare at me weird. I seem to generally get waves from 2drs more than the 4drs.

Jeep wave ...

Passed 15 Wranglers today that were coming from the Jeep Jamboree In southeastern KY ... About half waved or acknowledged me...the other half did not. I wave at every Wrangler I see...soccer moms included. Is it just me or is the Jeep wave fading out?

Some folks only wave at Wranglers, but the #of doors shouldn't matter....

I remember when the Sahara first came out. I wanted one so bad. However, for some reason, there's just something about the JK/JKU versions that torques me and I can't even begin to tell you why. Doesn't stop my from waving. However, if others get the same feeling, then maybe it is the model. It might be the painted fender flares...lol. Don't let it get to you. Just keep waving.

Dude, I'm from Texas, and I always got waves when I lived in CA, KS, ND, and back home. Moved to MA a couple years ago and it's like pulling teeth (from an alligator) sometimes.

Yep, just a joke and based on exactly this. I just thought it was amusing.

Then a few days ago at a light, I wave at a woman in another JKU. She waves back. We headed into the same place and parked next to each other. We started talking about this wave thing and she said she thinks I don't get waves because it's a JKU and therefore we don't have real Jeeps. At least that's what she was told. I bought a 4 door because I'm a 67 year old dude with grandkids and a wife that likes to play in the woods (that sounds freaky, but you get my point).

You all don't subscribe to that, do ya? That 4 doors are not real Jeeps? Say it ain't so.
You definitely have a real Jeep! I also have a JKU and people around here almost always wave regardless if it's a JK, JKU, TJ, CJ, etc. It also doesn't matter if the driver is male, female, young, or older, they all wave around here.

Be happy with that JKU! With my family and dog, a two door would be too limiting for us. I have had a two door as well and absolutely loved it, of course I was single and living at the beach!

Wave on...

Learned about the Masshole attitude when I moved here. However, summertime joyriders in my area and on the Masspike from exit 1 (NY) to Boston seem to wave like crazy when it's topless season.

gburkett If ya have a manual that's where your right hand goes. Left hand will be the waving hand.
