Pierce88 Is your jeep a 6-speed? Cause if so I'd be betting on the clutch.

maruri33 Thank you for your answers! But what about that burning smell that came out from the vents when I started the heaters inside the car?

Correct.

Peepers Personally, I stay in 2wd until I feel the jeep start to slip (I use momentum to get through some obsticals), then I shift into 4x4, or when I come to a point where I know I will need it, such as steep hills, sand pits, any kind of deep puddle, or muddy/mushy area.

daggo66 You should be in 4WD before you need it. As long as you are on a surface that allows wheel slip, you will be fine.

Jeep wrangler sahara 2012 in the trails (newbie)

Hi everyone! I got my 2012 wrangler two weeks ago and yesterday I went in a trail in the woods to test it out. I have a couple of questions on how to use the 4X4 systems: The trail was really bumpy with puddles of water occasionnaly. I wasnt going really fast, maybe 15-20 km/hr and I was wondering if I should ALWAYS stay on 4X4 HIGH in these kinds of trails... Or will it damage the jeep if I do so? Should I stay in 2 wheel drive and only une 4X4 when I get stucked? at one point the windows got fogged up then I started the heater and it smelled like something was burning for like 20 seconds or so, is this normal? And my last question is about driving on light sand, again, should I leave the 4x4 always on ?? I really need help here thanks for your answers!!!!!
