After (not same day, but I haven't repainted or anything other than a pressure washer):

|Jsb0032||I've seen on other posts that the bed lined stuff is hard to clean. Is this true? I want to bed line my fenders but my tires stick out past fenders and slings mud, so if it is gonna be hard to keep clean I will look into paint.|

The Rustoleum bedliner requires two good coats ( one can for flares ) The touch up is unnoticeable. Its a slight texture... here is a shot of my swing-away and bumper with two coats also...

|Jgood738||If I use bedliner, does the stuff go on thick? My Jeeps P/O painted the flares with black spray paint that's chipping off. Would the bedliner just go right over the chipping and it won't show or do I have to sand them first?|

|BLK00TJ||I kryloned the summer before last and by this summer it had already grayed and became a little chalky looking. The parts that I bedlined with Rustoleum were still as black as the day I sprayed them (same weekend that I kryloned). The other parts were bumpers, handles, license plate mount, and gas bezel. A few weeks ago I sprayed the bedliner over the krylon.|

|flyfishnevada||Best part, is you can shoot that stuff right over the top of itself and you'd never know. Easy to maintain and repair.|

|lovemachine||Hmm...I'm still liking both.|

|AZ Greeen Jeep||Wow! Those pics all look great. I'm going to have to do that. Where do you get this stuff? Auto parts store?|

|The Boss Man||Just use krylon paint. It's cheaper and lasts about as long as the bed liner does on the plastic just make sure you prep it right. Dish soap works great!|

|NHEric||I did the Rustoleum spray bed liner. I bounced em off trees all last weekend. They held up great. Wish my tail gate held up better when it met that tree, but that's a story for another day.|

|Dextreme||Just paint them with Krylon Fusion - Satin Black.|

I did rustoleum Bedliner.... just like my wheels, bumpers and swing-away....
Love the texture... not too much and has a satin sheen....

I used plati-dip on my fenders & bumpers. It worked great. I've had it on the trail done then & not a scratch on them. To prep I washed them with Dawn dish soap, then wiped then down with a lint free cloth & aseton, then sprayed them. The rubber isn't like pain to where toy need to sand it in order got out to stick. They are still dusty thus the washed out look, but they clean up good & are a very deep black again.

|CJVJeep||I bed lined mine....looks great but I just did it last week so I can't answer to the wear.|

|AZ Greeen Jeep||
How did you prep the flares? Did you have to sand them or something to get them roughed-up so that the bed liner material would adhere? I have the plastic flares that have turned a greenish-gray, and was thinking of doing something as well.
It seems that paint, or any other material for that matter, would have a hard time sticking to this surface. It probably didn't help matters any that I put Black Magic on them to try to revive them.

|menchue||I painted my flares with bedliner and love the look and the durability of it seems to hold up great! No problems from me! There is a thread I started but I don't know how to link it.|

Fender Flares: Paint vs Bedline
I need to restore my fading gray factory fenders. But I'm undecided to paint or bedline them.
I just can't make up my mind!
Which lasts longer? Which will fade first/fastest. Which is more durable to scratches? Which looks better?
What is your thoughts? Which do you prefer?
