My rear seats are out but I think my short one will cover most of the seat. I don't have the real long one. I'll be putting my rear seat in for a road trip soon and will be hauling one passenger back there so we'll see how it goes.

mommymallcrawler I love my Spiderwebshade! I got red which looks cool over the black cage (my Jeep is Flame Red). Hint: it is a bazillionty times easier putting the balls down on the inside rather than up on the outside.

My Lunatic and myself managed to get my hard top off just the two of us. And I am a whimp lol. It isnt that heavy, just akward. And making sure the stronger person gets both sides out of the last pegs before lifting.

I sold my black full for a red half. Nobody sits in the rear so I don't need full coverage.

If it helps, you can roll without the freedom top screws. They are to used to keep the front 2 pieces safely in place if the back half is removed. Otherwise if the back half of the hard top is on, the front pieces are secure with just the sliding clamps. Ordered my SWS last night after reading all the positive reviews on WF.

sanarchy alright alright alright... i loosened the bolts that hold the hard top on, lifted the front, put a wedge there to hold it up, and installed the damn thing. seems pretty good!

Did you watch their video prior to making the purchase? They do say, you must have the hard top off for the first installation......

You sir, must be a much more patient man than me. I knew not even to ask my wife to try, lest we end up having a very bad weekend hence forth. I had the lift done the second weekend after owning the JKU to prevent such a problem.

And the SWS is absolutely awesome. My 2.5 year old loves it. Got red to go over white. Really gives the jeeps character too. Probably one of the best purchases so far. The only annoyance is when I put on/off the soft top, with the front brackets having to pull/move the balls out of the way. Sort of annoying.

They say you can put the hard top back on with the mesh on there. They never said you could install the mesh with the hard top still on.

ck1 I put my spider shade with my top on. I just loosened all The bolts on the sides and the upper bolts almost all the way out. I lifted the top a bit and I stuffed the shade over the sound bar and pulled it tight over the rear bar Got it nice and tight all around. I used all the spidey balls where they should go including up front on the footman's loop I put the freedom tops on with the shade on. I just slide the latches over by pushing thru the screen. I dont use my freedom top screws thru the sound bar at all when i have the hard top and spidey shade onPiece of cake. I love my spidey shade

I bought one for mine and just gave up. I think you have to remove the Spiderballs in the bolt holes when you put the panels back on. I'd really like to have mine on but I don't see any way.

Mr.Dave I think fitment of a front based half shade would fit like poo on the back, but Dirty Dog makes a two piece set you can buy, I'd go that route, also leaves less of a gap between it and the sport bars than the SWS does.

DjS. So I was thinking of buying the front and back singles. That way I can leave the back on but take the front off if I would like to. Has anyone else done this or entertained the idea of doing this for their four door?

Those two screws should go right through the grommets on the Spider Web Shade. I don't see any reason why your hardtop including the freedom panels will not go back on tight.

Spidershade install on jk 2 door

Hello everyone, I just bought a spiderweb shade and I was wondering if it was possible to install the shade with the back half of the freedom top on? I don't have a rig set up to remove my back top yet, but I wanted to install my Jkini. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

SteedGun I did this today but heads-up I think they may have changed the grommet size on the SWS. 5/8 or even 1/2 is too large for the grommets on my shade. I used 2.5" 7/16 bolts hex, nylon washers, and wing nuts. I didn't mind the hex nuts as I just laid a large crescent wrench on top holding the nut just enough to get the wing nut started. It worked great.

I went to Lowes and got 2.5" 5/8 carriage bolts, washers and wing nuts. Worked perfect to eliminate the flapping.
I've been to 3 hardware stores and none have this size carriage bolts. No Lowes around.

Will the short SWS fit under the Trektop NX and be used in sunrider mode? Anyone using this setup? I sold my full sized SWS.

You connect outside the shroud and then work them under the plastic as close to the wind shield as possible.
