mattbju2013 Hey man go with the CB! I did .. Got a cheap Midland and installed it under the dash.. And I bolted my chessy loudspeaker under the hood (facing down: sound comes clear out of the bottom of the Jeep...) it's quite loud.. Not so much when the jeep is running, but plenty loud when the Jeep is off..

silver rubi go to or . they have systems that are cheap that are specifically just to be used as PAs these are specifically used in Fire and EMS vehicles so they are pretty durable

Cheapest/easiest pa system for tj?

I'd like to install a PA in my jeep for the summer just to play with. I know nothing about installing the stuff but figure the best way to learn is to just do it. My plan is to get a cheap CB to run the Pa through, is this te way to go? Ifmy only purpose for the CB is to use the PA, do I need a current CB or is it worth it to just grab an old cheap one to use as a means to connect it?

Also as my top is almost always down, how careful do I need to be with these in the rain? Are they built to withstand some ruggedness or does it depend on the model/where it's mounted?
