IC 9-19-12
Chapter 12. Rear View Mirrors

IC 9-19-12-1
Safety requirements
Sec. 1. A motor vehicle that is constructed or loaded so as to obstruct the driver's view to the rear from the driver's position must be equipped with a mirror located so as to reflect to the driver a view of the highway for a distance of at least two hundred (200) feet to the rear of the vehicle.
As added by P.L.2-1991, SEC.7.

Here you go mad max. This is cut and pasted from the Indiana State Code. It just says a mirror.

I am a Hoosier too. Glad to see another one around here. I am about 20 minutes from Kokomo and Logansport.

Indiana law regarding mirrors

I just took the doors off of my '98 wrangler today, and was wondering what the code was in Indiana. I read on here that some states only require a rear facing mirror aslong as you can see behind clearly for 200 feet. Do i need to reattach the mirrors on the body of the jeep or can i just keep them off? i would personally like to keep them off if its within the law.

thanks!
