Maro35089 I'm a fan of royal purple I go around 6k an oil change. I asked RP about if you drive less then 6k a year they said an annual oil change is all you need.

GARUBICON Clean fresh oil also helps in Fuel economy.

GARUBICON Depending on how hard you drive or wheel. I run Penzoil Platinum Full Syn. I Change it every 4500 5000 Miles give or take considering how hard I drive. More wheeling more Oil Changes.

Harro tell ya what i do ,drain the oil ,buy som cheap oil ,run it in the motor for 20 min, this pulls all the carbon off,get it outa there change the filters and put the new oil in ,been doing it for 30 years works like a charm.

dmblair You're fine. Google the pro's and con's of chaning the oil at 3K like it's recommended and you'll see. One con being how expensive it gets. All you're doing is greasing the palms of the oil execs by changing your oil that quickly. It's actually kinda amazing how much life you can get out of an oil change.

Oil Changes by Calendar vs. Mileage

For those of us who drive fewer than 10K miles a year, how often should I change my oil, in spite of the miles?
