|GeckoJK||Took my Jeep in for some service and mentioned the wiper issue. They replaced my turn signal stock as it seemed to have a problem. So far it hasn't happened since it was replaced.|

|Boddah||I didnt read the whole thread so forgive me if the problem has been solved, but after reading the OP I had the EXACT same problem in my 3500 Dodge ram. The solution was to change out the whole turn signal stalk and module. On the dodge it was a pain in the ass to do.|

|blkunlmtd9||So after fighting with service dept, they hooked me up and changed both the signal and the wiper tree. NOW, my rear driver side signal is out and it's not the bulb.... Fml.|

|blkunlmtd9||Is the TIPM what the service advisor calls the control module, or is that a different part? I was having issues with my clock where it would slow down a minute or so every day, and there was a bulletin out for it. they changed my "control module" and that is around the time when i started having these issues....just a coincidence, or could I have gotten a faulty module installed???|

|Xena1||This is all happening because Chrysler is buying cheap electronic components from China to boost profits! Quality is going down faster than a lead balloon! They will regret this when thousands move on to a quality oriented auto maker!|

|Mclunk||So I got it back today, they replaced the wiper multi-function switch. They said they found that it was faulty, only time will tell if it is "fixed". I have to take it back in so they can replace the heater core, which was plugged with casting sand.|

|Mclunk||My jeep is in the shop right now, when I talked to the service advisor I got the impression they knew all about the wiper issues. Hopefully they do something.|

|blkunlmtd9||Im having the same exact problem with my 2012 JKU sport. starting going off once when I hit the turn signal....now they just take a few swipes out of nowhere as well!! Took it into the shop and they said they couldn't reproduce it and had no error codes. NOW my 36K warranty is up and I called the service dept to try and look into it AGAIN bc its getting worse and worse|

|BigMike62||This has been a problem for quite a while. It happened on my '09. They changed the wiper stalk/switch and it still happened. Then they changed out the wiper motor itself which fixed the issue.|

|garyokc6||Update! After dozens of calls to Jeep and different case managers I think they fixed the wiper issues. I made appointment after appointment taking the jeep back to the dealer. I told my case manage that I will take it back every week until they got it fixed. I was tired of hearing that they can not re-create the problem. The dealer had to get a cab to take me to work every time so it was adding up quick. The service manager replaced the turn signal switch in September and told me if it happens again to call him and he will change the TIPM. It has been 2 months and the wipers have not come back on by themselves since and it was happening at least twice a week before that. So for everyone else, STAND YOUR GROUND with Jeep. If you shelled out thousands for a new JK then you should not have to deal with the wipers coming on by themselves!!!|

Hopefully the final update
A little late, but better than never..
Brought the jeep in on Friday, 27-Sep. They reopened the star case, and gave me a rental and told me they would call once they had a prognosis and eta of when it would be completed....
Turns out I got a call that afternoon, telling me it was the Multi-Function Switch and would be fixed before noon on Saturday, 28-SEP.
Seems like when the rental and all the labor and parts are coming out of their pocket, they move real quick!
Anyway, I got it back, and have not had a problem since. Hopefully, this will be the fix...

Mine has been fixed. They have not come on by them selves since. I posted the work order with the parts they changed in another tread. They also fixed the clock losing time. All ok here.
Here is the link where I posted the work orders

|Mclunk||Was it something they were aware of before you brought it in? Just wondering if there is something specific I should be asking for if I take it in.|

|BlackOpsJeep||It's a software flash they did to mine that stopped it. Like a Ghost in the Machine!|
|10-11-2013 11:59 PM|
|Mclunk||Let us know what they find, everything I have been reading about this seems to point to the same sequence of events. First wipers randomly turn on, then progresses to horn, and washer fluid going on by itself, then the battery dying. So far mine is just wipers, and I haven't taken it I yet, as I know they will just tell me they can't find anything if it isn't doing it when they have it in the shop.|

|abject||I have a 2010 Sport Wrangler...its doing the same thing; wipers coming on randomly, but! I went out to it this morning and all the power is there when I turn it to "Ignition", but when I turn the key to "Start".... it all dies.... nothing, no crank... but a random solenoid click now and then... so we will see what happens Monday when I go in and ask about it....|

|Lusus_Naturae||Has the clockspring been ruled out yet? Has anyone put a different battery in?|
|09-24-2013 12:34 AM|
I also have a 2012 JKU have had the wipers come on 4 times now on their own, twice when activating the turn signal, and twice when just driving.
With no other symptoms, would anyone say it is this TIPM issue or just a multi function switch issue.

|GeckoJK||I have a 12 JKU Sport S, got it new April last year, have 20k km (just over 12k mi) and am having this issue. It is happening more and more. Next trip to the dealer I will be bringing it up. Seems strange most Jeeps with this issue are 2012s. Maybe a bad batch of parts?|

DJG Wiper Update
Here's the scoop... Got a really good counter service person. She is the best, and the reason I like this place. The other two guys just plain suck.

Hey all, I'm a newbie here. Found this thread after having the wiper problem myself and trying to do a little research. This is my first Jeep, and have been wanting one for over 20 years... Its my baby, got it March 16, and it only has 3900 miles on it!!!! Weekend trips with the kids in the back, fun stuff, not the daily commute vehicle (that's what my work truck is for)
Here is what I have going on:
1) got an appt at the dealership this Friday first thing in the morning (today is Wednesday)
2) called the dealership to say that I had found this thread, and it could be one of two problems, and asked if they could have the parts in stock so I would not have to come back.
3) got the "Whatever" attitude, and when I asked if they could check for any service bulletins got the response "only techs" can do that.
4) took it to the next step and called Chrysler Customer Assistance directly. Even asked to talk to Linda and gave her extension. What a joke that was, customer assistance?.. only if I need to loose a few pounds and run around the track and jump through a bunch of hoops!
5) was told that I still have to have a service rep flash the computer first, attempt to replicate, and if that failed, then I could call back to escalate...
Oh and I will!!!
Any case #'s that folks can send my way, I would greatly appreciate it. It will only make the case stronger!
Thanks for letting me rant. Off the soapbox...

You can PM me and I will give you my case number and you can give it to Chrysler/Jeep as someone else who can verify the problem. Anyone else on this forum that has had this issue and has a case number can help by doing the same.
