Jerry Bransford Yes both a bellyup (which lifts the t-case up) and a suspension lift will require a slightly longer DS. I think I'd wait until it's all installed before measuring for the new CV DS.

i have a belly up to put on and will be going to 4" suspension(2" right now with stock tc skid), will that change the length(i would only think it'd change the angle...)?

Jerry Bransford You don't need adjustable length front control arms to get your SYE and CV driveshaft installed properly.

Thanks for your help once again...one more thing and this probably is a stupid question but do i need both front and rear upper adjustable length control arms? They have the upper rear and upper front...thanks

Jerry Bransford You can get away with just upper adjustable length control arms which will give you the correct pinion angle while at the same time restoring much of the wheelbase shortened by the suspension lift... a good thing. Using adjustable length lower control arms to raise the pinion angle would further shorten the wheelbase already shortened by the suspension lift.... not a good thing.

Alright...so i install the lift kit along with the SYE kit, then measure for the CV drive shaft and then order it....sounds good to me. I appreciate your help. Also, i talked with RE and the guy said im going to need upper/lower control arms (forgot which) and shocks (of course). What shocks do you recommend? I dont want to go over the top any further (already spending $1000 for the lift, SYE and CV drive shaft) and still need shocks + control arms...do the better shocks make that big of a difference? Thanks for your help once again!

AzTJ Check out 4x4groupbuy.com - they have a number of RE kits available that include an SYE and Driveshaft. I bought my kit through them and love it.

ebp123 alright im fairly new to this whole jeep thing and i understand that if i do not get a SYE and CV driveshaft i will have to lower my transfer case which will reduce ground clearance and seams fairly ironic since i want more ground clearance in the first place.

Anyway, i checked out tom woods and a couple other sites you listed but i still found a SYE and a CV driveshaft for about $400 from RE, and i would prefer to have all my parts coming from the same source. Im not sure if the RE stuff sucks or what but i think it would be better to go with them since iam buying my lift kit from them also....another thing i dont understand is what the inches are for and mean when buying a driveshaft..? You can see all the driveshafts RE offers here... http://www.rubiconexpress.com/Produc...=05BDD66854068 but i dont know which one is right for me. The SYE which iam looking at buying is here .. http://www.rubiconexpress.com/Produc...=05BDD66854068 and they recommend the CV driveshaft (RE1898) but doesnt say anything about length or what not....just need some guidance so i dont screw this up...thanks!

Jerry Bransford Pretty much any SYE from sources like Tom Wood's Custom Driveshafts, JB Conversions, Advance Adapters, etc. would be fine. Tom has a complete kit for a pretty good price that would be hard to beat.

I would avoid JB Conversions "super short" SYE which while it sounds good, that kit eliminates the speedometer gear which then makes it impossible to recalibrate your speedometer without an expensive external electronic speedometer calibrator. Besides, a super-short SYE kit is not needed for any but the tallest of suspension lift heights.

slip yoke eliminator and CV driveshaft

Im buying a 3.5" standard lift kit from RE, and was wondering where and/or what kind of slip yoke eliminator and CV driveshaft i should get for my 98 4cyl. tj. I decided on RE because i can easily upgrade to a 4"+ superflex system if i want to down the road. Any help would be appreciated. THANKS
