Just wondered how the springs were working out

as far as ride quality, etc. I might just go with a setup similar to yours.

I don't have the BDS lift, but did put on the 19/60's. Debating myself whether to just go budget boost/regular lift/leveling kit. But the springs you put on look pretty nice, and one of the guys I have been wheeling with has a F150 with 8" BDS lift and his truck looks awesome and he loves the BDS lift. It also has never been stuck when I have been with him.

Of course, he paid big bucks for the lift and to have it installed. This pic is right after it was lifted, and doesn't do his ride justice. He has added a few things, but it looks way better in person.

Ric, can you update on ride quality?

Now that it's been a month, how is the ride, handling, noise issue?

Hope it is all good.

Still undecided about going 35's and all that is associated with it. How do the shocks work with the springs vs the pucks? Did you have to change out shocks as well? Or did the Fox shocks handle the extra spring ok? Some (like mine) are only for 0-2" of lift.

rics1997 I had the stiffest factory coils also 19/60 combo then added the 2" spacer so that didn't make it any less stiff. So I did feel the road real well. I started hearing popping noises under hard turns. Wasn't sure if it was the spacers or not but haven't heard it since I replaced them. Haven't heard people complain of this but as I said it did seem to stop now. Of course I haven't had too much time on them either other then going on a small trip (240 miles today) but most of that was highway. Had some fun in Gatlinburg today with my daughter, well if you call her spending my money fun lol. It seems to ride smoother now. Not that I don't still feel the road but it is better then the coil/spacer combo.

Looks good, love the camera

You can also rip the boot by other means (high centered on driveshaft or a root/tree limb ripped mine up really good). No lift involved.

I like the looks of those springs, too. Really nice. Keep us updated on how they ride/settle out over time. I'm still debating if I'm going to do anything else to my Jeep or wait and spend the money on the JKU I'm getting the wife next year.

Do you think the 2" spacer screwed up the ride quality? I also thought of going with the leveling kit.

As far as JKS discos, I have heard nothing but good reviews. First that I have heard of this issue. I will check it out a little more.

My front DS spewed some grease.

rics1997 Driveshaft angle. If the angle is too step, the stock boot will rub at he transfer case and tear a hole in the boot. Mainly from articulation on the trail. Since the boot is sealed and non replaceable, all the grease will run out and the driveshaft will have to be replaced. This can happen in a 2dr with over 3" lift and 4 door with over 3.5" lift as in this thread http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/who...ts-137655.html

Nice rig, Ric

Just curious about your driveshaft. Are you talking about the pinion angle? Too much angle, or just too worried about the shaft?

Also, know a guy who just got the JKS quick discos and had big time issues with the pins. Cheap junk, he had to go buy different ones. (Pins, that is.) He was NOT a happy camper, especially after i told him about my $8 homemade discos.

I just picked up my 3" BDS kit yesterday. Hope to get it installed this weekend, but have an exhaust to put on my Dually.

rics1997 Knock on wood, I think I got it to the lift I want. I hopefully will stay here awhile. My bank account will like me better. I just about had as many changes in lifts as ESP has had tires. At least I feel safer about Driveshaft with the new front coil. The old was over 3" by a little. Lost .5" but the ds looks better.

Stock New



19/60 coils and new bumper stock tires



New Goodyear 285/70/17 with 1" front Teraflex spacer





Teraflex Leveling kit 2" front/ 1" rear with 19/60 coils, Fox Shocks, and New 33X12.5X15 Duratrac's



And today 3" front BDS with 60 rear coils and 1" Teraflex spacer

Just got my BDS 3" coils installed to replace my front 19 coils and 2" Teraflex spacers. Actually lost an 1/2" going this route but it was well worth it. The ride is like night and day. Going to leave the rear with 60 coils and 1" Teraflex spacer which gave me 2.5" lift over stock. Didn't see the need for it and the stiffer coil should be great for towing anyways. I have a long driveway that most would consider a trail, lol and the front was so much smoother coming up. Also plan on new JKS Disconnects in a couple weeks so wanted the articulation the straight coils would offer. Already ungraded the shocks and other suspension parts from the 19 coil/2" spacer combo anyways so all I had to do was change out the coils.

Also added a rear view camera to make hooking up to the hitch much easier.
