Ibuildembig You can make a jeep fast, just takes cash

stykthyn Put a plow blade on the front and a JATO bottle or two on the back. One again be sure to snort coffee and smoke a Kool.

Abomination93 I prefer to hit fast cars with my bumper, the fast cars are not so fast when wrecked. I will mention I have an i-beam for a bumper so I got very little chance of not driving away, that is of course if they don't rear end me. If I get rear ended I might just light a match and walk away.

Xpress To clarify, this is a fast car. Ariel Atom 500 V8:

-0-60 speed of 2.3 seconds
-500 horsepower
-3.0L V6 naturally aspirated engine
-6 speed gearbox
-1,213lb curb weight
-10,500rpm redline
-Top speed of 175mph

That is what a fast car is. A Jeep on the other hand will NEVER (get this into your head) be fast. They are not fast vehicles, they are Jeeps, made to go slow, go places other vehicles just simply cannot go.

Jeep Wrangler YJ 2.5L:

-0-60 speed of some 40 seconds or more
-117hp
-2.5L I4 naturally aspirated engine
-5 speed manual gearbox (or 3 speed automatic)
-3,200lb curb weight
-5,500rpm redline
-Top speed of about 85mph

So, morale of the story. If you want a fast car, then find yourself one of the 25 Ariel Atom 500 V8's and buy it. It might put you into debt for the rest of your foreseable future but at least you can have the comfort of knowing that your friends will NEVER touch you.

You want 4 cans of hill brothers coffee. Pour the coffee onto a pile on the table. Next get a 20 and roll it into a straw. Proceed to snort the coffee until your face gets numb. You're going to need the energy for this next part( make sure you've already applied decals as your hands might be shaking a little after snorting all that coffee.) Paint the coffee cans silver and arrange them under the back of the jeep so they look like exhaust tips( you can go up to 6 if you wish but you may not be able to control all that HP) next buy one of those noz bottles that's actually a sub and attach it to the rear roll bar. Actually you better make it two. The big ones. Now that you are pimped out and ready grab that twenty spot (unless you spent it and in which case ask your friend to take you to the gas station to buy a carton of kools and make sure to hit the cash back button and select 20). Roll it back into a straw and snort the rest of your coffee. Remove any and all incriminating residue from tfs 9s and 0s on your credit card. Now hit the road in your newly tricked out and pumped up beast. Light up a smooth menthol Kool and no one will have the titesterone to mess with you or your buddies.

WranglerJR83 So, let me get this straight. Your friends are getting hurt on their motorcylcles by kids who are driving fast cars that they can't control and you want to soup up your yj so that you can drive fast to keep up with them?

Problem 1: You won't be able to control a fast yj.
Problem 2: Your adding to the problem by wanting to drive fast, whether or not you are doing it to protect your friends.
Problem 3: The only way to make a fast yj is to do a motor swap

My suggestion is to either put some strong body protection on your jeep and tell your friends to ride with you, or tell your friends to stay near you when riding, or tell your friends to get rid of their bikes. Trying to go fast to protect your friends is just going to add to the danger for everyone.

I have had my share of friends die on bikes, 4-wheelers, jeeps... Trust me when I tell you that what you are thinking of doing is a bad idea. If you ever could get that brick to keep up with a bike, you would be signing your own death warrant.

XJ Knight Regearing if your tire size is over stock or going back to the right size tire for your gearing is all you can do.. There are no performance parts out there to help you out for your engine that work (outside of some things you might be able to pull off a 4.0 I6 maybe, but still not gonna give u visable numbers). Your driving a 125 horse power or so brick on wheels.. Your jeep wasn't built to go fast at all.. It was made to drive through stuff and go places a normal hockey mom 4x4 can't while doing 5 mph
