The bar can actually attach to the boot just as it does to the window.

Your 2012 is no different than other JK's. It will stay. The Bestop Duffle works great. I've been using it for 3 years. You can alos look at the cloverpatch version. The difference is the cloverpatch rolls the windows north and south so it will not fit inside your gate. It has to sit on top. The Bestop will work either way. I would also look at getting a soft top boot. You can attach the rear bar to the boot or place it inside the boot.

If you are talking about the rear window bar, just put it back in place, The rear gate will keep it in there.

SJS thanks..... dama... what do you do with the plastic bar

dama417 I roll them up "side to side" in a Bestop window storage duffle from Quadratec, it's divided by 4 pieces of felt and makes a neat package when rolled up (the plastic bar on the bottom of the rear window has to come off. I also use the Smittybilt soft top storage boot to cover the top in the down position, just looks better. Both well worth it.

RedBones I just roll the whole thing up bat included, the your jeepshould have came with straps so I just put one on the twist it and put it on again.
That way its tight and out of view.
Just my 02.

Rolling up windows for topdown ride

I just got my 2012 Jk and I am going on a long weekend this weekend that I would have my top down for the ride but I would like to take my windows with me for the ride (just in case of rain, I am goign to be away 3 days). I am thinking about getting some soft fleeceand rolling the windows up but it does not look like it will fit in the back if I roll them from top to bottom.. do you roll them from top to bottom or from side to side>
