One week later!
It has taken a week to shed the 7 lbs I packed on at Jeep Jamboree in Llano.
Stayed up late drinking every night and drank too much beer and ate a ton of junk.
But I'm back on the treadmill at night since wed and will go back to running in the am again starting Monday.
This week I'm going to try to start getting into the gym 3 times a week.
I also moved my next goal to get under 200 lbs by Thanksgiving
|09-11-2008 10:50 AM|
I'm so out of here!
Way short of my goal but in a few hours I'll be in Llano for a weekend of wheeling!
|09-11-2008 01:02 AM|
How about a side by side
I still have a LONG WAY to go!
|09-11-2008 12:54 AM|
Well here they are the before and after pic.
The first Photo was taken 7/22/08 @ 265 lbs
The Second photo was taken 9/11/08 @ 229 lbs
My goal was to be at 210 by tonight but I'm about to go into the Gym and see if I can shed another 60 lbs over the next six months.
|09-10-2008 03:05 PM|
I wonder if anyone will notice...
I'm still a long way from being Tiny!
|09-10-2008 02:57 PM|
that was amazing progress and dedication!
you should be proud of yourself!

Dude, in order to maximize any program, occasionally you need to shock the system. This weekend, I think we will be able to help on that note!
|09-10-2008 01:06 PM|
Well here we are 24 hours before I leave for Llano and the Fall Texas Spur Jeep Jamboree falling 19lbs short of my goal.
But all an all I still feel good about what I have gotten so far!
I'll post a before and after picture tonight!

|Barrie||Good work, keep at it!|
|09-08-2008 05:37 PM|

|09-08-2008 11:37 AM|
I broke 230 today!
Even with Pasta for lunch yesterday!
Look what my scale had to say today.
|09-05-2008 03:33 PM|
then run over to Tucson and I'll give ya some!
oh wait, I'm not 21
|09-05-2008 03:29 PM|
When I run out of Beer I quit running. JUST KIDDING!
|09-05-2008 03:25 PM|
you're doing great, you've come so far
just remember, when you're about to end that run, just think did you really run as far as you could?
Try to run a little further each time
|09-05-2008 03:20 PM|
My plan was to start weight training when I hit 220.
But I have been driving a tractor and unloading and stacking hay.
I guess the good I was not forced to buy new cloths right before a Jeep Jamboree!
I plan to get into the gym for a more aggressive work out as soon s I get back.
My Knees were starting to bother me at night when I cross the 4 mile threshold. I'd like to get off the treadmill and start the elliptical!

You set your goal far too ambitiously. You've done great so far, also think about changing up your workouts. Sometimes you see a slow down when your body gets used to the routine. And are you doing any sort of weight bearing training? Adding muscle is the best way to speed up the whole process.
When I started to work out I was about 40 pounds heavier than I wanted to be. I didn't diet at first. I just worked out for an hour twice a week. Heavy bag classes at my gym. They changed them up constantly. I didn't lose all 40 because I also added muscle weight. Basically I rearranged my weight to a more attractive configuration. Make sure you take into consideration that you will gain muscle so the scale might not show every pound of fat you've lost.
But, JT, be realistic. It took time to put it on, it takes time to take it off. Be proud of what you've done and do not let not making a lofty goal diminish what you've accomplished.

I'm not going to hit my GOAL :-(
I have ran my butt off for almost 7 weeks...
But I don't think I'm going to hit my goal.
My first goals was to be at 220 by the time the Texas Spur was going to get here. Then after my early successes I re-set my goal to 210 by the Texas Spur.
Well as of today I'm only at 230.00 Granted 265 - 230 is good but way short of what I was wanting.
I'm sure a big part of it is sitting at a desk 10 hours a day. Running in the am and again at night is just not getting me their as fast as I was hoping for.
So I'm going to bump up my runs a whole bunch and see if I can drop 5 lbs by next Thursday.
I know I should not be disappointing with loosing 35 lbs so far but It's still a long way off.

|KicknJeep||have to agree it's not always about loosing weight but sometimes it can be more about loosing "inches" because like said before muscle weighs more than fat.... so post progress pics|

Tonight I'm going top unload and stack a half truck of Hay!
Her kids are going to have to get bigger soon or she needs a BF this work is about to kill me!
|09-02-2008 11:32 AM|
|ygohome||yeah, lifting weights and cardio can actually put on pounds because your adding denser muscle. You'll still be trimming inches and chisseling though. But stay away from the burgers and fatty food!|

I worked my b u t t off this weekend...
Spent all day Sunday on a tractor mowing 10 acres of land at my sister-in-laws place in West Odessa.
Ran Four miles at the Duck Pond Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Yesterday...
Spent Five hours working on my lawn yesterday and cleaned the house from top to bottom. A ran 1hr and 20 min Saturday, Sunday and Monday night on the treadmill.
But I ate a bunch of crap this weekend Steak, Chicken and even a burger at my sister-in-laws.
And I lost a whole whopping pound!!!
Here is a link to a pick I took last night do I look any thinner???? I think not!
Link to my West Texas Pic

I'm going to keep hammering away.
I'm still a long way off from being where I want to be but I'll keep at it.
|08-29-2008 12:26 AM|
|amy||Greg, you're doing great! Well over half way there. Good job, man.|
|08-28-2008 11:51 PM|
|nvr-enough||just keep working at it as hard as you can. even if you don't reach your goal keep trying and don't be disappointed. its just another small snag in your plan. but keep up the good work...this reminds me i have to do the pacer test in gym tomorrow. You have to run across the gym as many times as you can. boys should be able to do it at least 52 times...|
|08-28-2008 11:24 AM|
Not too sure that I'm going to make that 210 or event the 220 by the Texas Spur but It's still coming off bit by bit.
