JKTHOMPS Nevermind, they have a great website. Catch and release only for the main river stems. Otherwise no fishing.

JKTHOMPS Humboldt Redwoods looks awesome! Nice pics! I am going to have to check that place out for sure... are you allowed to fish in that river?

bobthetj03 Good thing you went when you did. In a couple weeks that whole area will be littered with pot smok'n hippies (Raggae on the River)! LOL!

sssaksena yup end of summer sounds great! this time of the year, you can't get away from all the bugs on highway 20... Here's my black beauty enjoying a delicious dragonfly gourmet breakfast on the way to redwoods, so glad I did the grill mod:

Not sure what you consider a little further south hahaha Pismo Beach is about 9-10hrs, 500+ miles south of Homboldt County haha

are any of you guys familiar with humbolt county offroading places/camping? I am heading up north for a two day road trip on July 2nd wondering if there is a place I can really use my Jeep other than driving on I-5. any and all your help will be much appreciated.
oh and does anyone know of a beach that I can take my jeep to and park and camp, like on the beach?

You could run Usal Rd also. It'll take you into Shelter Cove. From there you could take the King's Peak rd thru the King's Range wilderness (Lost Coast). Google Maps
That will take you all the way to Ferndale. Beautifull scenery and the roads are easy in the summer months.
the google map link didnt work but thanks for the tip, I will check it out.

JKTHOMPS A California Beach Guide - Humboldt county California

Can explore this site also. Best bet to be sure is to call the parks department. I've found they are easy to speak with and very knowledgable.

JKTHOMPS On the bottom left of the page that this link goes to, there are maps. You can print them of view them PDF format. Shows public and federal lands and a base map.

Have fun! Let us know what you find!

gene13 I'm going to try and make the lake run. I've been on a lot of runs and they are all great. The one thing about jeepers is no one gets left behind.
