That's how I have mine set up. Cord is a little messy right now but the plan is to run it in under the tail light at some point when I get the chance.
The plug goes down in the middle of the stop and then curves back up again into the tub along the tail light. Sorry the pic is blurry.

|Tanks||I have a 108" steel whip with a Uniden CB head, they make some really compact units if space is a big deal. I keep it tied down on the passenger side with a bracket that it slips into. They only suggestion I would make, regardless of what antenna you get is to mount it with the plug inside your spare tire stop so it doesn't get ripped off by passing branches. A coil spring on the base is a good idea too. Radio shack can set you up with a lot of it, and Fry's electronics is great too if you have them where you're from.|

I would go with a stainless steel whip antenna, usually, 9', with a coil spring base. The 9' whip will give the best performance for your cb. There are antenna 'keepers' that easily attach to the outer edge of the top of your vehicle so you can bend the antenna down and out of the way. Radio Shack or as earlier suggested, any large truk stop. I would recommend a coil spring base for any cb antenna on a Jeep. Cobra or Midland cb's are both real good.

not me, i use whatever is easily available or inexpensive. i think i have a cobra right now wit ha firestik antenna because it was all given to me. i need to find an swr meter though because none of it is calibrated together so it doesn;t work for talking on.
read up on your local trail laws though because i have read that a number of clubs and parks don't allow those tall steel whips for safety reasons.

|Squeeze||If you're serious enough to get a whip antenna and mount, I'd get a decent Cobra model|
