Hey ladies and gents, been a while since I've posted here (almost a year) but not much has happened so I figured why post!
Of course, Christmas time brings Jeep parts, and since my birthday is late November I typically do a "combined" present to get bigger stuff!
This year I'm adding a Kargo Master Congo Cage to the rig with Yakima crossbars and a Big Powder Hound snowboard/ski carrier.
Ordered the stuff from Q-tec about a week and a half-2 weeks ago and the Yakima products came in a few days. The Kargo Master stuff, however, (cage and adapters for crossbars) just came in today. They were "drop shipped", which by my understanding means they didn't stock them at Q-tec but they still sell them through the site. I had to wait for them to ship direct from the factory from Kargo Master. I had heard people waiting for up to a month for drop shipped stuff but my experience wasn't too bad at all. I emailed Q-tec and they explained things to me nicely so that was good.
ANYWAY. Rack will be on this week, gotta find a day when it isn't raining or completely freezing out to do it though.
I'll take pics and let everyone know how it goes!

|02-15-2013 12:53 PM|
|wranglerbrother||Very nice man!!! thats what ive been waiting to see with it, (hence my comment above) looks very good man, even enough to be called "beastly" those tires look great too btw! Awesome man, awesome!|
|02-15-2013 07:22 AM|
|Squeeze||Thanks a lot!!|

|BCDonny||The jeep is looking great. Good work|
|02-14-2013 11:49 PM|
|Squeeze||Damn! We got hit but only 2-4 inches total. They grab fine in that at least, we don't typically get THAT deep of snow unless its like a blizzard.|
|02-14-2013 11:40 PM|
Did you get hit with that last storm? We got 28" in about 18hrs.
Wondering how they will do in heavy snow, light snow?
|02-14-2013 11:32 PM|
|Squeeze||They're nice, handle real nice on road, haven't gotten to do much offroad, taking a trip to Rausch Creek for spring break though. In the snow they grab fine too, and they DESTROY mud, eat it up haha|
|02-14-2013 11:22 PM|
|cRaZy888||How do you like your grabbers so far? I just put mine on today.|
|02-14-2013 11:19 PM|
|Squeeze||I'm right outside philly!|
|02-14-2013 11:09 PM|
|Gunz n tractorz||Thank you. If you don't mind me asking where at in pa are you. I'm in md 3min below pa.|
|02-14-2013 10:48 PM|
|Squeeze||I've had it since mid summer and have done some really mild wheeling but in Pennsylvania we get allllll kinds of weather, especially this year, and its held up solid|
|02-14-2013 10:43 PM|
|Gunz n tractorz||I either hear great things about smittybilt or terrible. One guy was saying that the powder coat was terrible and peeling off of his bumper. How long have you had it for?|
|02-14-2013 10:39 PM|
|Squeeze||I would. Its super solid, the powder coating has stayed on, and looks cool haha, and for the price you can't beat it. I know quadratec has a deal now though for the same bumper practically with a winch combo for a good price|
|02-14-2013 10:34 PM|
|Gunz n tractorz||Would you recommend the smittybilt bumper?|

AND NOW how the front sat before the lift:
And then outside of the garage, lift finished!:
And then how she sits now, after the 35s!:
My fav pic:
Pops testing out the new ride:
Lil baby jeep I happened to be behind...someday my friend:
Couple of my friends and my jeep (mine, shanes, johnnys):

(mine, shanes, johnnys):
That's pretty much it for now! Loving the ride! Everyone around knows Black Betty now, and this probably helps distinguish a bit ;D :
Next thing I need is flat flares to pass inspection and to stop the rear tires from rubbing on the flares on big bumps. Pops bought me some KC Daylighters which will be going on soon too, so I'll keep everyone posted with pics!
Lemme know what y'all think! Thanks guys and gals!

So it's been a couple months since my last post here, and since I've got nothing to do on this lovely Valentine's Eve, I figured I'd finally get around to uploading all my pictures from the lift and everything!
Well, I went with the Rough Country 4" lift. I figured for the budget I'm on, I couldn't beat it. We put it in back in December and I haven't had any major issues to this day (besides some rubbing on the front tires and on the rear flares).
AND NOW FOR PICTURES.
Before the procedure: (Left, kinda bad pic)
Now for the procedure!
Up on stands:
Taking off the damn swaybar links, PITA! Ended up burning them off, the bushings would not budge otherwise. Even then, they were difficult.:
Kind of a crappy shot of the track bar relocation bracket on, bump stops, and the new swaybar links:
The old spring, retired:
New spring in!:
N2.0 Spring in:
RC Heavy Duty Steering Stabilizer in, the bolt in the middle of the tie rod was INCREDIBLY difficult to get out, took a whole night's work and a borrowed bolt puller to finally get it out. Once remedied, it was pretty smooth sailing:
Me taking something off that I forget off hand haha:
Drop Pitman Arm on, supposedly went smoothly, I was in school when Pops did this so I wasn't there to see how true that statement was haha:
Rear Track Bar Relocation Bracket...put this in wrong a couple times, something about the bolts lining up wrong I think...anyway:
Had to rig up a bracket to relocate the e-brake line, it was drooping in the back and almost interfering with stuff, so we drilled this to something that was up out of the way and had it go through here. Sorry I don't forget exact details it was a couple months ago:
So after a few misc. other things that I don't have pics for, the lift was in. We did front first and then the back so for a lil bit it was sitting like this:
and in the back:

|Squeeze||Most certainly will! Spent a good chunk of the day rearranging the garage to move the Pop's 83 mustang (8 year work in progress haha) to the other side of the garage to make room for the rig! Thinking I'll start work over Christmas break|
|12-08-2012 08:01 PM|
|wranglerbrother||keep it up man i wanna see this bad bear lifted!|
|12-08-2012 11:26 AM|
While ole Black Betty's gonna be up on stands and out of commission, I want to paint the frame. Pops and I are making room in the garage to bring her in there so we'll have easy access to tools and power (and a marginal amount of more warmth haha).
My question is, is POR-15 nessecary for a rig living in suburbs right outside Philly? I know the salt issue here is nothing compared to up more north. Can I get away with sanding, cleaning, priming, and spray painting? And also, if spraying, regular paint or bedliner? Ive never worked with por15 do I'm not sure what prep work and all that needs to be done with it but I've heard wonders on its durability.

|Squeeze||Reading back through this thread and laughing at how cluelessly optimistic I was about spending so much money haha|
|12-05-2012 08:38 PM|
|Squeeze||Thanks fellas (and/or ladies??) I'll be sure to take lots of pics along the way!|

|95 Red Wrangler||Nice, make sure to post some pics and tell us any difficulties you have installing the lift|

Ordered the RC 4 inch lift and it came in today! Gonna be busy this weekend so not sure when I'll be able to get it on, but super excited.
Gonna use the stock axles and the 31s for now until I can afford 35s. Then I'm gonna fix up the axles and regear. Another paycheck and I'll be good for tires. Plus I'm selling mine now (almost full tread).
After that its an 8.8 for the rear!
|10-08-2012 05:42 AM|
|Squeeze||Thanks means a lot! Can't wait to see what you do to her!|

|Jiberias||Nice job. I get allot of great ideas here. I just bought mine Mon. Oct 1st.|
