jim9006 Well if he's asking if anyone else has had the same problem, then I'm glad to see no one has replied.

jeepified Wow sorry to see you have no other replies. I have a 2005 LJ with the 42RLE but mine has a little bit different noise. I have a slight noise that I will call a whisp, however mine increases with engine RPM. I've already changed my torque converter but noise is still there. If you ever find the culprit don't forget to post your results. Good luck!

42RLE has rattle at 2,000rpm in all gears

Howdy, my 2006 LJ Rubi has developed a kinda light heat sheild sounding rattle at 2000rpms and gone by 2100rpm in all gears. I have heard it may be a cracked flex plate starting around the holes and will get worse, before I go removing my Under Armor and tranny, would like to know if anyone has has this problem. My LJ only has 22k miles on it. I have pulled the inspection plate and checked converter bolt torque and they were fine. Any ideas would be great.
