bobthetj03 I vote to keep it stock height for now, and put a set of 31X10.50X15" all terrains on. BFG AT KO's, Falken Wildpeak, Duratracs to name a few would be good. Get out there and wheel it a bit. You'll be amazed on it's capabilities with a good set of tires!

tyhoff7119 Thanks for all the help so far everyone and keep it coming. I will start looking into your recommendations after work today.

Here are a few photos I have on my iPhone if they help. Like I said its pretty stock so in opinion it's a bit weak looking and maybe even girly. But that's why I am tryin to beef her up a bit one step at a time. Starting with new tires for sure since I need new ones either way

rda616 Nothing wrong with a small 1" to 1.25" body lift. Most of the best built rigs here have them. You can go with a 31x10.5x15 on your stock suspension and wheels. You may get lucky and find a set of take off rubicon wheels and tires . They are a 16" wheel with a 31" tire and imo the best looking factory wheel.

I agree with skipping the lift. I would go with tires and wheels for now.

Dragonii Look at Goodyear Duratracs. Nice looking, quiet, smooth ride... they work great on the highway for daily driving and are daily commuting.

Need advice on new tires / and or lift

So I just bought a 2006 Black Jeep Wrangler X this past winter. I live in Boston and go to school in San Diego and will occasionally be doing the drive back and forth (Once every year or two). As off now the mangler is stock. But my tires are starting to wear and since I need new ones anyway I want to begin the process of turning my Jeep into a Off and On road vehicle. I am a student and I know with my budget this will take a few years to eventually achieve what I want but for now I am looking to get some All terrain tires that will beef her up a bit without totally destroying my milage since I will be using It on road more than off road still and possible a lift as well if I can afford it.

I am looking to get some advice/Info on what will work on my jeep? look good? and also be usefull off road?

I currently have no lift and have the stock P225/75R15 tires.

What new tires can I get with this? What about if I bought bigger rims or got a lift as well? I read a body lift is not the way to go but maybe a 2" BB lift. Whats the difference and what BB lift have you guys had success with?

Any info is greatly appreciated. I am no mechanic and dont know much about this type of stuff but I want to learn it so I can soup up my Jeep over the next two years.
