|AZDBack||When you guys did your audio change outs, did you ever consider "marine grade"? Any sense to it? Mine is stock, has the subwoofer in the center console and stock speakers throughout. Always tradeoffs but don't want to lose valuable storage for 2 12"s and a bank of amps. Would love to hide an amp under front seat, improve quality of speakers in current locations and switch over to mp3/satellite sound inputs.|

I am not against using an amp, but there has to be an alternative to the "10x"10 monstrosity mounted to the middle of my floor.

I've been looking into the same thing lately.
Many places like best buy will sell most of the components that you need separately and install all of it for you.
You may need to reconsider your amp situation though. Most quality speakers, especially when you're going to be running that many of them, will need an amp - not to blow the lid off of your jeep, but to provide enough clean power to run them properly.
Im not an expert on the subject, but that seems to be the consensus of the information that I've been able to gather.

Complete Audio Swap
Does anybody know if there is a place the offers an entire audio package for a TJ? Receiver, sound bar, connectors and wiring, all of it.
The guy who had it before the guy I got it from installed a huge amp under the rear seat. I want the amp gone as I want to remove the rear seat and carpet and bed line that area.
I wasnt sure if it even worked so I left the radio playing while I unhooked the power wire from the amp, I figured if its hooked up there would be a change in sound when I did this. Well the stereo stopped playing altogether, I of course hooked it back up.
I want to start fresh from front to back, new receiver that will allow me to plug in my iPod, new speakers in the dash and sound bar, I am willing to replace the sound bar if necessary.
Currently the only speakers working at all are the two on the sound bar. I dont want a booming Jeep, an amp is not necessary.
Wiring and electricity are not my thing, I would end up making things worse. If anybody out there from SoCal can recommend somebody or somewhere I can take it to have all this crap removed and a fresh install performed I would appreciate it.
Please share what you guys did and what you are using.
