wallybloke I used the Duplicolor roll on truck bed liner from Walmart on mine and they turned out awesome. $25 a gallon and I used less then a quart. One thing about it the stuff will NEVER come off.

erickpl Works on plastics quite well and VERY resistant to fade.

mac3kuby I think that contrast with forest green will look great. Go for it!

MoA the color of my jeep is the EXACT color on the sahara decal.. i LOVE it.. which is why im gonna rock the forest green tube fenders until i can save up enough money to get em painted right
07-13-2008 09:17 PM
mac3kuby Well I was trying in microsoft paint to get the color of the hard top but it was kinda difficult. Yes I will get paint almost the exact color or I won't do it at all. I was just trying to get a general idea of the end result. I am glad you like the idea. I don't think anyone has done it yet, at least not to my knowledge. I may try it in the next week or so....

ive always wanted to paint part of my jeep forest green.. i love my green/tan seats in my jeep.. when i get tube fenders later this summer im going to paint em forest green until i get the $$ to get my whole jeep repainted the sand color it is..

heck you have the jeep i wish my parents would have bought.. exactly like mine WAS =D but now the goldish color has grown on me and i love it to death..

spanky was that the color you'd use? becase personally im not fond of it. not the idea, i like the idea, just not the paint scheme. id go the color of your hard top. if not that then maybe black.

mac3kuby I was thinking something like this for mine, what do you think ? I am going to start with the rocker panels and see how they hold up.

mac3kuby That is freaking awsome. I am gonna try that with mine but go with a spice/tan color. I think it would look good with my green jeep and tan top. I called krylon and they only recommeded fusion, but there isn't a good color for me in that. Since you just used their regular line I may try that on my rocker panels and see how it holds up first. Great to see someone who tried it!!!

RatherBNarizona lucky you lol
I used tape because I didn't trust my spray paint ability
07-06-2008 09:31 AM
yjwrangler i have been painting alot on my jeep lately, duplicolor, on metal i use rustolium then a top coat of whatever, usually bed liner, then i primered my roll cage, and primered and bedlinered the interior and used a vynal dash for the dash, its black now, was tan...
i never taped anything when i did the roll cage, never got a single spec of over spray on anything...hahaha

tarheel I did mine awhile back. I used Dupi-color for bumpers. It is a flat black that will hopefully be easier to touch up. So far I haven't needed to though

TeeJay I did that to mine a while back. I took fronts and rears off and primed them first, then sprayed them the factory stone white and clear coated.

spanky cool beans!
06-29-2008 03:05 AM
RatherBNarizona well I heard it was hard to take the fenders off, and honestly just kinda wanted to get it over with
so I just taped over the ends with painting tape, the put newspaper over the rest (my painting skills aren't the best lol) it came out pretty good. I only went through about half the can of paint too
06-29-2008 01:52 AM
spanky did you tape off everything and rattle can it ? or did you actually remove the fenders and then paint?

my next project is to paint my fender flares. im gonna remove em and spray them with something. dont know what yet. got half a gallon of some rustoleum left over from another project. might try that.
