kulahpac Well, I tried the headlights first and that wasn't the problem. I bought two new ones and they are doing the same thing. Next I'm going to try the switch I think, unless anyone else has any better ideas.

richp It is probably the headlight switch, I'd change it out, $15 or so, they do go, both of my switches on both my 97 TJ's went as well as the one my 98XJ, the problem is that all the current goes thru the switch and they get hot, then contacts stick together. I would also check your relays.

brownie65 something i have seen several times is a one of the high beams will burn out & the operater will not notice it. they will only notice this when the other one burns out, then you don't have any bright lights. don't know if this is your problem but have seen this happen a bunch, might check to see if you have power to the headlights on brights ,if you do, might try new bulbs. park lights will/can work even if headlights go out, they work when pulling light switch part way out. just by reading your post i don't think you have a switch problem, is possible especially if the lighs are actually on bright while on dim side, but i would think if it was shorted out the indicator would be on. I really think you need new headlights or possible wiring problem.

Headlights/ High-Beams Malfunctioning

Well I'm hoping someone can give me a little help again. Just recently my headlights on my 93 Wrangler started acting crazy. When I turn them on to the regular lo-beam it seems really bright and (I'm not positive but) I think the hi-beams are actually on, however, the little notification light on the dash isn't on... Then when I hit the high beam switch the notification light on the dash comes on and says my hi-beams are on but the lights themselves both shut-off completely. The parking lights next to the headlights work during both situations, It's just the headlights themselves that are causing the problem. Anyone out there ever have a similar problem? A little guidance would be much appreciated.
