cavediverjc If this story had a soundtrack, it would be "Dueling Banjos" played by two old men in ratty overalls smoking corncob pipes.

Good Reason To Use Jack Stands

SPRINGDALE (AP) Police say a man upset with his girlfriend went to her trailer park and, when he saw she was working underneath her car, kicked out the jack that was supporting the vehicle.

Aside from the resulting felony charge, Jimmy D. Rutherford of Springdale had another problem. That wasn't his girlfriend under the car.

The woman the car landed on had only minor injuries, for which she was treated at Northwest Medical Center-Springdale.

Rutherford, 41, was arrested Wednesday, two days after the incident.

Rutherford's girlfriend called police Monday to say he was upset with her and that, after he arrived at the Northern Hills Trailer Park, he mistook her for the woman under the car.

Rutherford is charged with aggravated assault for the car incident, plus he faces felony burglary and theft charges in connection with an unrelated break-in.

Police said Rutherford had some marijuana with him when he was arrested, so he also faces a possession of a controlled substance charge.

Rutherford was still in the Washington County Jail on Friday.
