|Rubicon_Jim||I'm sure Bill is 100% correct. Two doors mount to the inner post frame while the 4 doors mount to the seat. Mine is a 12 JKUR and its on the seat. Two friends of mine have '11 MY 2drs and they are mounted to the inner frame post.|

|SilverSport||I think Bill may be on to something here; my 4 door has the seat belt attached to the seat.|

|DannyV||Hell, I thought we couldn't install a security box because of all the electric wiring for features we don't have!|

|Up Hill Bill||
2-doors have slide and tilt (or whatever they're called) front seats and 4-doors don't. Maybe that's it. 2-door vs 4-door?
Can't attach set belts to a seat that tilts forward.....
Edit: BINGO... that's it. 2-door vs. 4-door.
All the posters here with seat belt not bolted to the seat have 2-doors, those with it bolted to seat have 4-doors...

|spankinkopita||No, it is the seat belt mount, look at the pix I posted, its the same on the passenger side, the real question is why they moved it|

|dwindeck||Probably a anchor point for right hand drive models.|

|DannyV||I played with the seat height adjuster today and found that the bracket never ducks out of view at either extent. I moved the fabric to cover it and then worked the seat to both extremes again. The fabric actually bunches a bit at the lowest point, like the bracket is meant to be outside it. This thing is really strange.|

Mine also has the empty bracket on the seat as my anchor point is down on the floor as well.

|DannyV||I haven't messed around with the seat height. Maybe my seat is way up? I will screw around with the seat hight tomorrow and see what happens.|

|spankinkopita||I wonder if the floor mounted seat belt is for more aggressive off roading|
|07-04-2012 04:43 PM|
Mine looks just like Danny's except my seat is apparently at its lowest and is mostly covered. I raised it all the way up and it looked EXACTLY like Danny's. I didn't even realize I could adjust the seat height...
Not sure what the threaded hole is for.

Weird if it was a mid model change, but whatever, maybe the rubi didn't trust the seat mount?
That is also where my passenger seat belt is mounted

Well shoot. I apologize for my earlier comment. I just ASSUMED that Jeep would engineer the seatbelt attachment points the same on all 2012 JKs. My 2012 JKR with height adjustable seat has the anchor point located on the floor almost directly underneath the seatbelt retractor mounted on the A pillar.

|3TimeOwner||That is where my seat belt is anchored on a 2012 Rubi|

|Beastmaster||They must have changed where they mount the seat belts on some models. That is where my seat bely attaches as well.|

Seat belt anchor
Do you have the height adjustable seat, it may only be used then

|Braveheart12JK||It has to do with the raising the seat up feature for the driver's seat. Not sure why there is that threaded hole, but that's the reason some can see it and some can not cause its covered to different degrees. Crank your seat up and watch that goofy threaded hole appear. Lol|
|07-03-2012 01:10 AM|
|iluvshoes||Mine is mostly covered by fabric. I wonder if it has anything to do with the back rest lever. I said that because if you look the lever on the driver seat is different from the one on the passenger seat.|
