|slippy||i wouldnt. i would get a diff, steering box, and oil pan skid plate first. i couldnt tell you what order to put that in tho. youll just have to choose.|

congrats on the jeep. As some have stated wheel it stock for bit to get a feel of what it can do. Over the past ten years I have guided 100's of jeeps off road, below are some things I would do or have with me for a stock jeep or any jeep. This list will of course grow over time as you find out what you need for the type of wheeling you like to do.
1. Tow hooks front and rear
2. Oil Pan skid
3. Tire repair kit
4. Carry extra fluids for jeep (and yourself)
5. Working jack and 4 way lug wrench
6. CB/cell or some way to get help if needed
7. 1st aid kit
8. Basic tool kit
Get on the trail with some friends and have fun, as stock jeeps do great

Join a local club and go on some off-road trails with other Jeeps to get a feel for where you want it to go...and save your money because it can get really expensive or it can be relatively manageable....it all depends on where you want to go.

There is already some protection there, but that is your call.
This all depends on what kind of trails you plan on riding on.

|Dare2BSquare||Wranglers are "trail ready" out of the box. Only problem is, as you get used to it you find harder and harder trails. I say drive it for a while and you will see what needs to be upgraded.|

I'm wondering what kind of wheeling you like to do? Rock crawling is my thing
so if it were me I'd focus on things that hang low under the jeep... diff covers first, followed by Currie HD Steering... then some rocker guards to protect your sheetmetal (if you care)
Then, depending on how much you like wheeling and if you want to move up to more difficult trails... upgrade to some lockright lockers and regear. I'd do the armor and axle upgrades before I did any big suspension lift changes and big tires. But thats just me.
cool freebee stuff can be done too... chopping the front bumper to the width of the frame to clear the big boulders... homemade front swaybar disconnects or you can do what I did and remove the front swaybar alltogether.
Theres sooo much you can do. Just got to wheel it and think about what direction you want to take it.

This is a loaded question really. There are so many things you can do to mod your jeep and make it your own. It really depends on what kind of trail riding and what you plan on doing with the jeep. Your budget plays a big part in this as well. If your budget is not a problem then the sky is the limit.
I would start with a moderate lift, new rubber, winch, new bumpers, good set of foggers!
