|ohioviper||DJBR1 what lift kit did you go with. That thing looks great. Mine is exact same minus the tires and lift but tires are coming soon.|

Since this had been re-bumped- it's been a few months since the lift and tire install. I'll be re-gearing without doubt. Totally a matter of opinion- but the tendency to downshift at/to low RPMs is driving me crazy. I drive mostly city- and my Jeep is downshifting at 40 MPH- into 4th- at about 1400 RPMs. WAY too low- no engine or tranny should run there. I could deal with the change otherwise but this is 90% of my daily drive. I've attempted to correct with Procal but no luck. This may be limited to my Jeep- but I doubt any dealer will fix much less investigate. Just a matter of 4.56s or 4.10s and when I win the lottery. (Since I might as well add lockers while I am at it). And get rid of the 34s I put on to avoid a re-gear- and put 35s on.
* Adding a "this is only an opinion" disclaimer here. Plenty of Jeepers seem to be able to deal with the performance change.

To answer the poster who asked how the Pro-Cal helps with driveability, you have to think GI-GO (garbage in - garbage out). If you don't give the computer accurate information, it can't set the shift points in the electronically controlled automatic transmission to the optimal position. It's less of an issue in a manual.

|jcull35||Does anyone run 305/70r17 with the 3.8 manual and 3.21? I am thinking about going up to these, on my next set of tire without re gearing.|

|JeepHerz||For those that have a manual- losing a gear might seem pretty substantial. I've read that on almost every thread consistently-losing 6th. I think the automatics are more subjective. A buddy just went with 35s on his hard top Unlimited- and says he barely noticed. Wit hthe e|

|JeezAJeep||I have 2012 JK automatic and getting 4 Pintlers and the AEV full lift 2.5 kit. I hear all different opinions on the loss of power ranging from "substantial" to "minor". I am confused as all hell. I will likely go with Nitto Trail 295/70 17's.|

I have 3.21 gears and just installed RR wheels and 33" DuraTracs, and immediately noticed loss of power/acceleration even though the tires are only 10lbs heavier.
The 33" DuraTracs are only 3/4 of an inch larger than the stock Bridgestone Duelers, so speedometer/odometer accuracy isn't a concern of mine.

hi, i got factory 17'' rims and 32 tires S package with 5 speed auto and
it runs fine, 3.21 if i wanted 15mpg's i would have ordered the 3.73 like i had
on my 07jk 2 door, but we all like something different that's one of the many
good thing about the wranglerwhen i trade in my 2012 it will not make
any difference at trade time, which will be 2014 with 8 speed auto only
have about 400 days to go! i love the wrangler forum..next jeep #7....

|JeepHerz||The changes are minor so I doubt it. Most everything you do on a Procal the dealer also does. Plus you can always restore to factory default settings so they'd never know you used it anyway.|

Since the lift is a week old and wheels/tires put on yesterday no problems yet of course, but I want to remedy the situation before it becomes a problem. it'll be a bit before it goes off road, but want to get the parts I need to fix now so its over with. Adams drive shafts seem nice, but not sure if I need lca's or what not as well....

I plan to try changing it to 35"s and see if I can trick it into better gear shifts. I wanted to get a full tank or two in first. I doubt it'll work but I'll give it a try. I love that gadget.

I installed my 3" lift last week and yesterday put on my 15x8 wheels and 33x12.50 Duratrac's. Waiting for my Procal to make the tire change and tpms. Drove it around town and not bad, but sure it'll be a little better with the Procal.

|MacCTD||Looks good, what size did you use on the Procal? From what I have read and used on my JK the actual tire size is often smaller than what is listed.|
