I'm not saying spacers will fail, but they are something else to break. If I were you, I'd just get new wheels with an offset built into them...

I ran them for a little over a year before getting new wheels. No issues at all with ball joints
Since I bought my 285/70/17's before I got my spacers I have a good before and after pics with the same tire/wheel combo to see the difference in stance
Before with stock wheels and GY MT/R w kevlar 285/70/17 tires
After with same tires/wheels with 1.5" Spacers

I've had mine for a couple of months now. I have checked them twice and have not seen any loss of the original 90lb torque setting.

Spacers are ok when maintained. Use the loctite and retorque them every so often, usually during tire rotation is a good rule. Also don’t cheap out on them, they’re not all the same, their tensile strengths are different. I suggest Spidertrax in the 1.5” variety. Tons of people run them. I actually have never heard of a spacer failing. I run Synergy 1.75” spacers.
As for ball joint wear, I have had 35’s on for 10K miles or so and spacers for about 5K, no need for ball joints yet. All Jeeps are different, so YMMV

Afternoon, all. I would like to get a more aggressive stance from the stock JK wheels. I'm planning to put some BF A/T's on soon, but I don't really want to mess with a lift right now to "beef it up". So, I'm thinking about 1.5" spacers to widen it a bit. Is anyone running with spacers? I searched thru the forum and didn't find what I was looking for, specifically: how much more wear can I expect on the ball-joints, and is there really a problem of the spacers coming loose at some point if I don't use Loctite and put at least 90 lbs. or torque on them? Any pros/cons I should consider? Thanks...
