|Fire Wrangler||I dont remember whose this is, but it is the look that I think is awesome - 3 inch FT lift with BFG AT 32x11.50x15... It has the lift and tire size I am looking at. I do a lot of highway driving too so I think the 32's will be more efficient and a little lighter. Thanks for everyones help!!!|

my gf also runs 35s on the d35.. but shes a sissy when it comes to wheeling.. if she did what i do when we go to attica.. shed definately be replacing something

|Fire Wrangler||Thanks for the responses. I have changed my mind again after talking with some others and reading a lot of stuff on here and some other sites. Being that my Jeep will be a daily driver with just a little off road here and there, I think I am going to go with a Full Traction 3 inch lift kit with short arms (since I have the dana 30/35 combo without a SYE) with 15x8 black steelies and BFG 32x11.50 - down the road I can always put on a 1 inch body lift if I want to. The whole set up is less expensive and I think will fit my needs still giving me the look and function I will need.....|

As for the lift,, go with the RE kit... NOT skyjacker
as for the lights, i would use the stock light wiring to trigger a relay which would then be directly connected to the battery. This way you dont fry the weak stock foglight wiring.
Also i dont know if i missed something but you said you want to drive the wrangler for a dd instead of the lightning? Man you will be paying out the arse for gas

|Fire Wrangler||Well boys and girls.....I checked out a couple of jeeps and found a nice one with the price I was looking for. I did, in fact, find a stock one. A jeep that I can do my own stuff to. It is a 1997 Wrangler Sport with 89,000 miles. It has very minimal little rust spots, light bar, 5 speed, patriot blue with a tan top. Only problem spots is that the hood has the clear coat coming off of it and needs repainted, seat has a rip in it (neoprene seat covers in the future), and drivers side plastic window has a rip in it. He was asking $6300 and I got it for $5600. Now comes the fun times. I know I want the black steelie wheels with 33's and it is either gonna be a 4 inch skyjacker lift, or the RE 3.5 superflex lift. Thanks for everyones help with things and I am sure I will have a lot more questions....such as which of these two lifts does everyone like better?? Also on a quicker note. One of the factory fog lights wiring is messed up at the connector and I was planning on different fogs for the front anyways......can I just splice into the factory wires with new fogs?? I am thinking about the Hella 500's. I dont want to run all new wiring when I can use the factory fog switch..I just want to splice into the wires already there. Possible??? Anyways, thanks again!!!!!|

|4X4RDSTR||I agree going with as stock as possible and you can always "do it right" if you like. It should not be squirrely. I would keep looking and try for lower mileage, maybe newer but certainly stock. Half the fun is customizing yourself and you know what you got.|

|Fire Wrangler||Thanks fellas for the opinions. Rubicons are just not in my budget. They are going for around 16K to 18K for a 2003/2004 Rubicon, although there is a badass silver and black one down the street from my fire department. I really dont want to get right back into a huge vehicle payment after getting out of one with my Lightning, though. I like both the yellow one and the green one, although I like the green one with the black wheels and the interior in some other pics I found are excellent. The green one is about 12 miles away from me so I will give it a little time and see if the price does anything. I am still open for more opinions from everyone though!!! Thanks!!!|

|AzTrailRunner||Shoot for full doors. Both hard and soft top's.And color does matter. definetly stay with a 6cyl and a/c of course. I'm a stick guy, but I would go with a automatic. Since you want yours for a DD, then I would definetly shop for just that in a used Jeep. Some of the bonuses that would be cool would be different bumpers,rockers and a lift somewhere between 2.5 -4 inches. If you have the budget, then you should check what a 2003 Rubicon goes for in your area.|

|4Jeepn||Unless there is something super special about the lift and mods, I have always tired to buy as close to stock Jeep as I can. That way I know what I have. There are lots of Jeep near ya, as I live right down the road. Heck the one that I would look at on craigs list would be the one with the rear 9" and front 44. Granted its a 4 banger but it should go where you need it to..|

Thanks fellas for the advice. I talked with the seller today, an older guy, and he really didnt know anything about the Jeep. He said he bought it off a guy who "had some money". He said he thought it had a "Full Ranch" lift kit on it?? It has 33's. He didnt know anything about the axles. Said he never took it offroading, and he believed the guy before him didnt either. He said he had basically took it out on the weekends and it stayed in his garage the other time. He stated the oil changes have been on time and the other diff. fluids have been checked but not replaced. I told him I was looking for a daily driver for all seasons and he said that a couple of people who drove it said it was a bit "squirrely" which kind of concerns me????? Here is the site for it if some of you wouldnt mind checking it out and telling me your thoughts. He also said it has no rust.

Honestly, that doesn't sound like a bad deal, but I'd be careful about checking underneath for signs of neglect or abuse. Check for mud caked in places you can't see while the Jeep is on the ground, look for obvious scratches, etc on skid plates, oil pan and anything else that hangs down which could get smacked on a rock. Also, determine which rear end it has, a Dana 44 is preferable, not to sure how most are ordered down your way, but w/ 33's, who knows how long a Dana 35 will last back there!?

First there are no V6 TJ's unless some put it in there, the 4.0L and 2.5L are both straight engines.
They come in SE base model 4 cylinder, X model which gets you the 6 cylinder, sport model which gets you some added trim and Sahara model which gets you a nice upscale interior and outside paint and decals.
Dual tops are a nice option especially for winter. I don't know what prices are like down your way, in PA jeeps cost more because they are jeeps, in NJ they cost less because they are treated as a car.
As far as add on stuff like lifts and tires, you usually don't get back what you put in them when you sell it.

New guy, many questions with some need for opinions
Hey all, How is everyone? First off - I am brand new on here, I dont have a Jeep yet but am looking very hard to purchase one in the next months down the road. I am from Kentucky and have wanted a Jeep for a long time. I drive a 2003 SVT Ford Lightning right now and need to quit putting all the miles on it. I want a Jeep to drive everyday, top down in the summer and nice for the winter - we get some pretty terrible winters here some years. I know I want one from 1998 to 2002 V6, 5 speed. Doesnt make a difference if it is full or half doors, color really doesnt matter either. Anyways, I have been looking around and have found some nice ones that already have what I want done, i.e. nice lift (not to big), Tires, and lights... I dont really know what to offer some of these if I decide to look and maybe pull the trigger. I know that Jeeps hold their value and I dont want to offend anyone.
One that I am looking at is yellow and black, 2002 lift, v6, hard and soft tops, 33's I believe, light bar on top and looks very good condition with 63,000 miles. He is asking $9,000 which is higher than some I have looked at.
Just looking for some opinions if it sounds good, or what to offer him for I see a lot of great info on here. Thanks in advance......
