heh...i thought the 4cyl auto's came with 3.73. read a build-up somewhere on a 97 that they said it had them. learn something new from the master.

Jerry Bransford It'll be 4.10/4.11 for the front and rear axles as that's what came with the 2.5L/5-speed combination. By the way, 3.73 was never used in the '97 that only had 3.07, 3.55, and 4.10 as options.

mrbigjeep check the metal should be the first number on the top right of the tag and then a space and then two numbers below it and thats your gear ratio...its the simplest way to do it...takes less than 30 seconds

khenderson 5spd or auto? it'll either be 3.73 or 4.10. there's a little metal tag on your rear diff that'll have the ratio on it.

I have a 97 wrangler bone stock with 4 cyl-which gears are in it? 3.55 or 3.73 or something else? I don't know.
