76flh when i made my front bumper, i cut off my stock bumper on the out side of the frame rail. i then welded my 2x4 stock to the center section. it saved me money that i didn't need to spend on mounting brackets or extra steel.

mr4x4 this is the front bumper I made it does wrap my frame rails and bolt up just like the stock bumper did exept my sway bar bolts help hold the back of it for extra strength when the winch is making a pull

this is what it looks like after I powder coated it at work

Homemade front bumper tips?

Hey, whats up, I'm definately a newb, but I am working with some buddies of mine to make a front bumper for my 99 tj. Right now Ive got the bumper's body cut it is about 55 inches wide on square steel tubing (4x4). When i go to mount this thing, should i use tabs, cut holes in it and bolt thru it to the frame, how do i stay out of the way of my sway bar so if i want to eventually put a currie anti-rock kit on it? Any advice, pics, anything really would be helpful. Thanks!
