Rticul8 You're welcome, bluvikng, glad to hear you like the magazine.

Can I ask two favors now?

1. If you have Jeep friends who think Jeep (and other off-road) magazines aren't worth their time, tell them about J Rations. Standard Issue 3 is still on our home page, available as a complete and free download.

2. If you buy from any of our advertisers, tell them you saw their ad in our book. It makes a difference.

We're not proud. We'll take all the help we can get!

Jrations Magazine

WOW, that was fast. Just recieved two copies of the magazine. I am very impressed with the detailed pics, and ideas, and the how too's discussed in great detail. From refurbishing a old Willy's, to installing various parts on your TJ's. Even the advertising is awesome. It is all the people I love to do business with, and will, in the future. It covers basically all the problems, and issues we talk about on this forum. If there was ever a magazine tailored to the diverse interests in Jeep ownership, THIS IS THE BEST!!!!!!!

This one gets a great big, "thumbs up", from me.

I appreciate your magazine, Rticul8, great publication.

Thanks.

amerijeep I know you guys all think I'm a paid spokesperson, but I'm really not.

Check out this mag. You won't be disappointed.

Rticul8 Or...you can go to the J Rations Web site and download Standard Issue 3 in its entirety—for free.

bluvikng, you just described J Rations! If you want a couple copies to check out, PM me with your name and address.

amerijeep We're good, blu. I just don't want anything taken away from Jrations. A good example of this magazine is how Lisa came in and let us know what the deal is.

Had it been those other guys, they would probably have just made fun of me....

Exactly, and that is what I said, it is just my opinion. You can't compare apples, with oranges. It should not be done, in the same wright-up, if you want to have any credibility. That is all I am trying to say.

Thank you, Lisa, for checking for me. I was thinking of PMing you, but I thought it might be premature.
Sorry about that Bro, just hit me the wrong way. I don't subscribe to any magazines, so I can not compare, or debate, the nature of either mag. My research is done on the field of play, and by talking to those that have machines that easily go over things, that others can't. I love the incredible diversity that Jeeps offer, and I am very loyal to Jeep. I also love the diversity in Jeep owners, and how they like to play with their own Jeep. I very much like the classic look, as much as I like the monster Jeeps. I chose my path, and would never intentionally put someone else down, for the path they choose. And if I were to buy into any publication, it should cover the broad spectrum, of Jeep owners, not just cater to any one group. I was not debating the efforts of the magazine, but was thrown off, by that ill written review.

And sorry if that offends anyone. Just my opinion. That write up is lame!!!!!!

That would be because a porche is built for the street and can easily be a daily driver, but a "killer jeep" is normally not so street legal or even fesible to drive on a regular basis.

No write up is lame when you look at it as one person's opinion. You grab a whole bunch of people's opinions, do a little research, buy some junk, then develop your own opinion. When you pass on your opinion, it's a little more well informed but still is only an opinion.

Amerijeep, I checked your subscription. It came in after Standard Issue 5 was mailed out, so your sub started with SI6.

Dare2BSquare, I checked on yours as well just to make sure all was well. And it is.

You should both receive Standard Issue 6 before the end of the week. It can take up to three weeks for all copies to be received.

J Rations is published bimonthly, so you should receive an issue every two months. If there's ever a problem or question, please feel welcome to contact me about it.
See that's what I like about you guys/gals. You are right on top of things. Keep up the good work!!! Love the mag!!!

J Ration Magazine - a review

So, while I was looking for a magazine on Porsches today (planning for my mid-life crisis in a few years. ), I found this brand new magazine.

Overall, this new magazine easily outshine JP Magazine. No stupid “junkyard build up to fit 44″ tall tires on an oddball Jeep in here”. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE oddball Jeeps, and I like the capabilities of something that big & built, but really, it’s just not something I could reasonably fit in my life.

Dare2BSquare The web site says it's on newstands now. But I haven't gotten issue 6 yet.

Rticul8 is affiliated with JRations... try pm-ing and see what's going on with your order. I will be patient and see if issue 6 comes this week.

Yes, I do. I haven't gotten one in quite a while. My first issue was issue 3, I ordered 1 & 2 back issues on line and got them right away, Issue 4 never came. When I got issue 5 I called about issue 4 and they sent one right out to me. I'll check the website and see if 6 is out yet.

Was that confusing?

Yes, they did an awesome job. As you did with your cj3a. Congrats on the spread. You should be proud of your jeep. And we are proud to have you as a member of the forum!!!

chasm Alright already! You called me out! Yes, it's one of my Jeeps!

The J-rats team did an awesome job! I almost couldn't believe it's the same Jeep I run around town in when the weather is nice.

That bright yellow paint is an eye catcher though... when I drive into town (Gettysburg) and park somewhere, the Willys instantly becomes another tourist attraction! It's actually pretty funny to watch the tourists come over and pose with the Jeep.

Being on the cover of J-rations is a very huge compliment!

amerijeep I could do some cutting and pasting and put my YJ on the cover!

Maybe I need to mail my copy to the guy and get him to sign and send it back to me. It never seemed like a lot of the jeeps I ever saw on the covers of mags belonged to real people. I mean, they often-times belonged to someone at the mag or a vender of some sort. I really enjoy that J Rations puts 'real jeeps' on their covers.

Dare2BSquare It looked familiar. Does this particular person have multiple jeeps?
02-05-2007 06:54 PM
amerijeep No big secret. I really want to everyone to buy the issue to check it out. The owner of the jeep is an active member here, but doesn't want to toot his own horn.

I'll let yall off the hook later, but you should really check out the issue to see who it is. I bet one look at the cover and yall will recognize the jeep.

Back issues are available on our website. They're $5.95 for a magazine only or $9.95 for the [Hardcore] versions of SI1 and SI2 (magazine and multimedia CD-ROM).

Hope you enjoy!

Dare2BSquare Go to their web site. Back issues are $4.95 each, I think.

You got a jeep and no job? Man, you must be jonesing on spending money for upgrades! lol
02-05-2007 05:02 PM
naterg I know as soon as I get a freaking job one of the first things I am doing is getting a subscription.

Also, would there be a way for me to purchase the ones I missed. I am OCD and when I read a magazine that is fairly new I like to own ALL issues from the beginning.
