ccain Well first, you need to get the tar real excited then rub it in just the right spot...... Oh damn. Sorry. You want to get the tar off not "OFF". I see...Sorry!

Mequiar's makes great products. Their Bug and Tar remover was the only thing I found that I could use to get the tar off my old TJ which actually worked. Bear in mind you will have to work hard to get it off. So roll up those sleeves and open a cold beer. Trust me, you're gonna be there a while.

chiro2736 A credit card. is how i remove it from the paint I think it would work the same for the tires. Slide the credit card gently across the tire as if you are applying window tint. it should come off. oh yah if you have a cvs card or the likes I would use that because the tar is a pain to get off the card, so just throw it out when you are done.

TAR! anyone know how to get it off?

So I went out to my jeep this morning and noticed my back left tire had some leafs and other debris attached to it. As I went to wipe it off, it didin't move. To my dismay I realized it was attached to the TAR (paving roads in the neighborhood), in which the tar was attached to my newly purchashed tires. Any ideas of how to remove this tar? Thanks again everyone.
