zimi117 Well I'm mounting a push bar that lines up with the factory holes because it's a bolt on. I have longer bolts wit tow hooks I baught and plan to use thoose.
Should I just take off the factory ones and see what happens?

Thanks

nastyrider17 I just drilled out new holes because the stock ones were too small and too far in. Even if I had drilled out the stock holes the lights were too big and would interfere with the bumper. For the wiring I just chopped out the stock harness and put butt connectors going to the stock wires. I can get more pics if needed.

zimi117 How did you guys mount the hooks bars etc to the bumper.
I have some mysterious bar or something running through my bumper. It conflicts with the factory star bolts. See my thread i have posted.
Thanks

flounder35 The box came with the switch, inline fuse, splicers, grounding connections, and 21 ft of wire. For once, I bought something from pepboys that had everything needed to make it work and didn't have to go back! the 21 ft of wire was just right for how I wired it.

What I don't get and maybe someone can help me out on this, a weaker (candlepower wise) set of slimlighters were going for 200 a pair. Is it just because they're slimmer? Weird if you ask me...
are those the ones that come with the wire harness relay and all ready to install, cuz ive seen some that dont and u have to go buy them somewhere else.

Cuz they Ugly!

Most people don't like the look of them, they are like big 'milk jugs' bolted to the bumper, and not much thicker than that either.......so they serve no real purpose.....other than being the 1st thing to make contact with anyhthing you get too close too which renders them dented immediately... especailly on the trail. My guess is your Previuouse Owner tagged one of them at the mall....and decded to just take em off.

It wasnt that much work to do it and I ran the wire from the switch (which is mounted where the four switch templates are) through the grommet in the firewall on the driver side, up the driver side of the hood and dropped it down right behind the headlight. Spliced in the driver side light, ran the wire through the hollow tube in the bumper to the passenger light. I managed to hide everything well enough except for the silver conduit that I wanted to show. Took me about 2 hours to do everything but that was mixed in with talkin time and smoke breaks. Now that I have the lights, I naturally need a lift and new tires. and so the mod bug begins...
dide u get the long range lights or just regular fog lights?? im lookin at the long range lights for mine

It is kind of odd you have the stock front bumper and someone just took the ends off though...

AzTJ solo - Those torx mount the hooks to the bumper to the frame, not just for the hooks.
08-29-2008 11:32 PM
solo97tj and im pretty sure those TORX bolts are for the factory recovery hooks let me see if i can find a pic of them on mine yeah its not a factory bumper but it should work that where they came from

If you are using factory foglights your fine, they use the round hole infront of the square hole there on your bumper. For aftermarket lights the hole "might" have to be enlarged some to fit.

ok so which holes are for mounting the fog lights??

and what are the 2 bolts that appear to be big allen head screw drivers bolts?

The bolts your talking about there hold your bumper to the jeep frame. They are "TORX" bolts not allen. If you plan on doing much to your jeep I suggest you pick up a set of GOOD torx sockets and wrench. Half of your jeep is put together with them.

Jma20a no need to drill, the factory holes are big enough.
