You can bring in the whole jeep or just bring in the locker. The engagement sleeve wears down. As individual parts for the locker cannot be bought we have to machine it. You can usually get it back next day.

We had to do mine and it works perfectly.

We can fix your locker easy. As long as it isn't destroyed. It's a cheap fix

well to be honest i only got it last week so im really just playing around with it. and i know im not going above the 18 mph.

Phrogmech46 Mine does the same thing, the light will start blinking and I have had someone watch and the locker does slip. The dog teeth are not staying fully engaged. Some people have used shims for better engagement. I will dig into it eventually but keep in mind the longer you ignore the more it will wear those dog teeth.

lambert I, too, am having the same problem. Realize that sooner or later
the stock Rubicon lockers would give out. Now looking into
ARB's for the rear. Just do not want the locker to go totally
out and not be drivable. .

C.L. No air pumps on a JK, it's electronic only.

Also, "steep mountain roads" do not sound like a situation where lockers would be needed in the first place. They should only engage in 4L, and only when travelling below 18mph. Maybe you sped up past 18mph on the straights and they disengaged, then slowed down for the corners and they re-locked?

At any rate, you don't want to use them at speed or when you have to turn sharp corners anyway, or you'll end up dragging a wheel. They're for LOW speed rock/off-camber crawling, or getting through mud/snow.

Aleater Well I have a LJ Rubicon, I think they work the same way though. The switch activates one of two compressors, there is a preasure switch that activates once the required preasure is achieved. I would think its one of two things. Either you have a small air leak, and its leaking down... the compressor kicks back on and re-preasurizes the system, or..... there is a short in the wiring going to the dash light and its loosing the signal from the switch. These are just the two things that popped in my head when i read the post, im not saying it's deffinately one of these two items.

How do you know the rear locker is disengaging?

08jeeprubicon sorry. its got 66,000 miles and i bought it last wednesday. the trails aren't extreme theyre just steep mountain roads. it also has a 4 inch lift with 35 inch tires. if theres anything else you need to know please just tell me. thanks

pkmcd99 Very vague story. Obviously your talking about a Ruby and when you activate your lockers electronically by pushing your buttons. Your lockers should not be disengaging at all. There electronic, its possible there is a short. How many miles? Recent service? Extreme trails? Modified? Need more input to paint a clearer picture

rear locker engaging intermittently

so i was out driving on some trails yesterday and i realized that my rear locker was engaging then disengaging. it stays engaged when im cornering but then it disengages when im going straight. my front locker stays engaged all the time and doesnt have any problems. so do you think that maybe my rear locker is on its way out?
