hi, Nathan,

'95?! '88? Between my dad's '41 Willy's and my 2012 4-door I haven't kept up all that well.
But where did I get YELLOW?!! (Just misremembered your post.)
I felt like turning around to follow you to the water but I'd'a been late to my own birthday party.
Satellite map makes it look like less than a mile from the "rock garden" to the water, even if you had to walk...
Looked like you two were having fun. I've been married so long I'd forgotten that passengers can smile, too.

gregaf3 Here is a great resource for local trail info. Michael normally updates this as he hits new trails.

Nathan Frabott that was me that passed you in my 88 yj :P we went all the way there and all the way back with no problem, evenn pushed the limits on that all jeep, it was awesome, the tail has gotten incredibly harder of the past years though so 4lo is definetly need in some parts now,m but it was amazing! went swimming in the river for 3 hours, got a nice tan, then headed back to town for some dinner! i will definetly be doing this one again soon!

gregaf3 you are right. After that rock garden there is a narrow wash for a little bit then it dead ends right into the water. https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid...01087,0.001835

I like it out there, it is just a long ride with all of those softball sized rocks sticking up. I thought I was doing a good pace last time and some db in a newer land rover passed me like I was standing still... I guess he did not really care how much he beat on his expensive ride.

Stormeister Maybe I did that.

After going right & up toward the power tower, the road splits again before the tower and drops off downhill to the right?

Maybe it was that rock garden I painted. Nearly under some power lines?
It looked okay around the next bend...

Or am I still off?

gregaf3 I am guessing that at the end of the wash you tried to go straight, I did the same thing the first time out there. At the end of the long wash you have to go up the trial to the right that looks like it is heading up to the power lines. From there you hit a small rock garden on the way down then it is smooth sailing all the way to the beach.

Burro Wash yesterday

I headed out by 9am, didn't see a yellow jeep or any other except a black '95 heading out about halfway.

I got as far as where the canyon and the "trail" rejoin, banged up a couple of rocks (one more than my daily limit. Doggoned 20th century suspension design.), and haired out what with no spotter and all.
OK, OK, lazed out. Life is too short to do engineering (or hiking) in 100 degrees.

Waiting for Fall (or a spotter).

or maybe I was in the wrong place. Googling now...

Burro wash is fairly easy. I've done it in a stock JKU. Although there were some spots where I did have to take it slow. Its a cool run. You'll have a lot of fun.

Burro Wash

I'm game. Too late? I'm ready now.

Do we meet & when?

Maybe I'll just head that way before it gets blazing hot. White 4-door Rubi.

Front seat available.
