The XJ and the ZJ, whats more important is the connector in the back, oh yea the Dakota and durango too. I replaced my 98XJ's back in a few months ago, went with a new nippon denso OEM, 130amp, alts are one of those things I won't buy rebuilt, a badly rebuilt one has the potential to fry your system, remember there is not voltage regulator in them, in jeeps it's done externally with a $300+ PCM.

ok i need a new alternator. i have a 98 sport(4.0) no a/c so its not the bigger alternator. does anyone know what other vehicles have the same one or what years are compatible?
